Setup

1. Rack Mounting

The MS-702 is designed for standard 1RU (1 Rack Unit) rack installation. Use the included rack mount kit to secure the unit into a standard 19-inch equipment rack. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.

2. Power Connection

  1. Connect the provided power cable to the AC inlet on the rear panel of the MS-702.
  2. Plug the other end of the power cable into a grounded AC power outlet.
  3. Ensure the power switch on the front panel is in the OFF position before connecting to power.

3. Intercom Connections

Connect headsets and other intercom devices to the appropriate XLR connectors on the front and rear panels. The MS-702 supports two independent intercom channels.

  • Headset Connectors: Use standard 4-pin or 5-pin XLR connectors for headsets.
  • Channel Connectors: Connect other intercom stations or beltpacks to the channel XLR connectors.
  • Program Input: If applicable, connect an external audio source to the program input.

Operating Instructions

1. Powering On/Off

Flip the power switch on the front panel to the ON position to power on the unit. The power indicator light will illuminate. To power off, flip the switch to the OFF position.

2. Adjusting Volume

Use the dedicated volume controls on the front panel to adjust the listening level for each channel and the speaker output. Rotate clockwise to increase volume, counter-clockwise to decrease.

3. Talk Buttons

Press and hold the TALK button for the desired channel to speak to participants on that channel. Some units may have latching talk buttons; refer to the specific model's front panel layout.

4. Call Buttons

Press the CALL button to send a call signal to all stations on the selected channel. This typically illuminates a call light on the receiving stations.

Maintenance

Cleaning

To clean the unit, disconnect it from power. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the exterior. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials, as these can damage the finish or internal components.

Storage
