Product Overview

The UEi Test Instruments PDT650 is a robust folding pocket digital thermometer designed for accurate temperature measurements in various environments. Setup

  1. Battery Installation: The PDT650 comes with one AB13 (SR44W) battery included. Ensure the battery is correctly installed according to the polarity markings in the battery compartment.
  2. Probe Deployment: Gently unfold the stainless steel temperature probe from its stored position until it locks into place.
  3. Power On: Press the ON/OFF button to power on the device. The display will illuminate.

Operating Instructions

  1. Temperature Measurement: Insert the stainless steel probe into the substance or area where temperature needs to be measured. The large digital display will show the current temperature reading. The update rate is approximately 1 second.
  2. Unit Selection: Press the °F/°C button to toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius temperature units.
  3. MIN/MAX Record: Press the MAX/MIN button to view the maximum or minimum temperature recorded during the current measurement session. Pressing it repeatedly will cycle through MAX, MIN, and current readings.
  4. Magnetic Mount: Utilize the built-in magnetic mount on the back of the thermometer to attach it to metal surfaces for hands-free operation.
  5. Auto Power Off: The device features an auto power off function, which activates after approximately 1 hour of inactivity to conserve battery life.
  6. Power Off: Press and hold the ON/OFF button to manually turn off the device.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: To clean the thermometer, wipe it with a clean, damp cloth. Do not immerse the unit in water or use abrasive cleaners.
  • Battery Replacement: When the display indicates a low battery, replace the AB13 (SR44W) battery. Refer to the battery compartment for instructions on how to open and replace the battery.
  • Probe Care: Ensure the probe is clean and dry before folding it back into the unit to prevent damage or contamination.

Troubleshooting

If the thermometer is not functioning as expected, please consider the following:

  • No Display/Faint Display: Check if the battery is correctly installed and has sufficient charge. Replace the battery if necessary.
  • Inaccurate Readings: Ensure the probe is fully inserted into the measurement area and allowed sufficient time to stabilize. Verify the unit is set to the desired temperature scale (°F or °C).
  • Probe Not Folding: Ensure no debris is obstructing the probe's hinge mechanism. Do not force the probe.
