Care and Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance will help ensure the longevity and safe operation of your heater.
- Always disconnect power and allow the heater to cool down completely before attempting any maintenance or cleaning.
- Clean the exterior trim using a soft, slightly dampened cloth. Avoid using abrasive or flammable solvents.
- Do not use citrus oil-based products or harsh chemical cleaners, as these may damage the finish.
- Ensure all air intake and exhaust openings are clear of dust and debris.
Troubleshooting
If your heater is not operating correctly, please refer to the following common issues before contacting customer service:
- Heater fails to power on: Check that the unit is securely plugged into a standard 120V AC outlet. Ensure the power control is in the ON position. Verify that the tip-over switch is engaged (heater is on a flat, stable surface).
- Unit is not producing enough heat: Ensure the thermostat control is set to a higher temperature. Check that the heater is not obstructed and is placed in an appropriate room size (up to 150 sq. ft.).
- Unit blows cool air: Confirm that the power/mode control is set to a heat setting (1300W or 1500W), not just 'FAN'.
- Power cord gets warm: This is normal operation for a 1500W heater. However, if the plug fits loosely in the outlet, it may need to be replaced.
