Operating Instructions
Reading the Time and Date
The watch features a clear cream dial with Arabic numerals for easy time reading. The date is displayed in a window at the 3 o'clock position.
Using the Indiglo Night-Light
To illuminate the watch dial in low-light conditions, press and hold the crown. The Indiglo night-light will activate, providing uniform blue electroluminescent lighting. Release the crown to turn off the light.
Maintenance
Proper care will ensure the longevity and performance of your Timex Expedition watch.
Water Resistance
Your watch is water resistant to 50 meters (165 feet). This means it is suitable for short periods of recreational swimming. However, it is not designed for diving, snorkeling, or prolonged water exposure. Avoid operating the crown while the watch is wet or submerged.
Cleaning
Wipe the watch case and crystal with a soft, damp cloth. For the leather strap, avoid excessive moisture. If the leather gets wet, allow it to air dry naturally, away from direct heat or sunlight.
Battery Replacement
The watch uses 1 Lithium Metal battery (included). The battery life is approximately 8 years. When the battery needs replacement, it is recommended to take your watch to an authorized Timex service center or a professional watch repair shop to ensure proper sealing and water resistance.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your watch, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- Watch not running:
- Ensure the plastic piece has been removed from the crown and the crown is fully pushed in.
- The battery may need replacement. Refer to the "Battery Replacement" section.
