3. Setup and Preparation

Before applying ULINE Packing Tape, ensure the surface of the package or item is clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, or other contaminants. This will maximize adhesive performance and ensure a secure seal.

  1. Unpack the Tape: Remove the desired roll of ULINE Packing Tape from its packaging.
  2. Prepare Dispenser (Optional): If using a tape dispenser, carefully load the tape roll onto the dispenser's core, ensuring the adhesive side faces outwards for proper application.
  3. Inspect Tape Edge: Locate the starting edge of the tape. If it's difficult to find, gently scrape the side of the roll with a fingernail until the edge lifts.

4. Operating Instructions

ULINE Packing Tape is designed for easy and efficient application, whether by hand or with a tape dispenser.

4.1 Manual Application

  1. Pull Tape: Pull out a sufficient length of tape to cover the seam or area requiring sealing.
  2. Apply Firmly: Press the tape firmly onto the surface, starting from one end and smoothing it down to the other to eliminate air bubbles and ensure full contact.
  3. Cut Tape: Use scissors or a sharp edge to cut the tape cleanly.

4.2 Dispenser Application

  1. Position Dispenser: Place the dispenser's roller firmly against the surface where you wish to start taping.
  2. Roll and Apply: Roll the dispenser along the seam or area, applying steady pressure to ensure the tape adheres smoothly.
  3. Cut Tape: Once the desired length is applied, tilt the dispenser to engage the cutting blade and cleanly sever the tape.

5. Maintenance and Storage

Proper maintenance and storage will prolong the life and effectiveness of your ULINE Packing Tape.

  • Storage Conditions: Store tape rolls in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ideal storage temperature is between 50°F and 70°F (10°C and 21°C) with moderate humidity.
  • Keep Clean: Ensure the tape's adhesive surface remains clean and free from dust or debris before use.
  • Protect Edges: If not using a dispenser, consider using a small piece of paper or a tape tab to mark and protect the end of the roll from sticking to itself.
