Setup

1. Unfold the Game Board: Place the game board on a flat surface.
2. Organize Components:
   • Separate the Chance and Community Chest cards, shuffle each deck, and place them face down on their designated spaces on the board.
   • Place the Title Deed cards next to the corresponding properties on the board, or use the flip-through holder for organization.
   • Distribute the Monopoly money to the Banker. The Banker is also a player but keeps their personal funds separate from the Bank.
   • Place the wooden houses and hotels in their designated areas near the board.
3. Choose Player Tokens: Each player selects one of the 10 gold-toned tokens and places it on the "GO" space.
4. Initial Money Distribution: The Banker gives each player $1500 in the following denominations: two $500s, two $100s, two $50s, six $20s, five $10s, five $5s, and five $1s.
5. Select Banker: One player is chosen as the Banker. The Banker manages all money, Title Deeds, houses, and hotels not yet owned by players.

Operating (Gameplay)

The objective of Monopoly is to be the last player remaining with money, by bankrupting all other players through property acquisition and rent collection.

1. Starting the Game: Each player rolls both dice. The player with the highest total starts the game. Play proceeds to the left.
2. Player's Turn: On your turn, roll both dice and move your token clockwise around the board the number of spaces indicated. The space you land on determines your action.
3. Landing on Spaces:
   • Unowned Property: You may buy the property from the Bank for the price printed on that space. If you do not wish to buy it, the Banker immediately offers it for auction to the highest bidder.
   • Owned Property: If another player owns the property, you must pay them rent as indicated on their Title Deed card.
   • Chance or Community Chest: Draw the top card from the appropriate deck and follow its instructions.
   • Tax Spaces: Pay the indicated tax to the Bank.
   • "GO" Space: If you pass or land on "GO", collect $200 from the Bank.
   • "Just Visiting" / "Jail": Landing on "Just Visiting" is safe. Landing on "Go to Jail" sends you directly to Jail.
4. Building Houses and Hotels: Once you own all properties in a color group, you can build houses and then hotels on them. Buildings increase the rent collected.
5. Mortgaging Property: If you need money, you can mortgage properties to the Bank. Mortgaged properties do not collect rent.
6. Bankruptcy: If you owe more money than you can pay, even by selling all your buildings and mortgaging all your properties, you are bankrupt and out of the game.
7. Winning the Game: The last player remaining in the game wins.
