4.1. Battery Installation/Verification
The G6-T2 uses one 12V Alkaline battery. Ensure the battery is correctly installed and functional before programming. If the red indicator light on the transmitter does not illuminate when a button is pressed, the battery may need replacement (refer to Section 6).

- Locate the Learn button on your Skylink EQ-IQ-Series garage door opener motor unit. The location of this button may vary; consult your garage door opener's instruction manual for precise details.
- Press and release the Learn button on the garage door opener. The indicator light on the opener will typically illuminate or flash, indicating it is in programming mode.

- Test the transmitter by pressing the programmed button. The garage door should activate.
4.3. Programming with a Skylink Smart Button Receiver (GB-318)
If your garage door opener is not a Skylink EQ-IQ-Series model, you will need a Skylink Smart Button Receiver (GB-318) to enable compatibility with the G6-T2 transmitter. Refer to the instruction manual provided with your GB-318 receiver for specific programming steps. Generally, the process involves:
- Ensure the GB-318 receiver is properly installed and connected to your garage door opener.
- Activate the programming mode on the GB-318 receiver (usually by pressing a Learn button).
- Press the desired button on your G6-T2 transmitter to pair it with the GB-318.
- Test the operation.
Important: Always refer to the specific instruction manual for your garage door opener or the Skylink Smart Button Receiver (GB-318) for detailed and accurate programming procedures.
5. Operation
Once programmed, operating the G6-T2 transmitter is straightforward:
- Press the programmed button on the transmitter to activate your garage door opener.
- The red indicator light on the transmitter will illuminate briefly when a button is pressed, confirming signal transmission.
- If two garage door openers are programmed, use the corresponding button for each opener.
6. Battery Replacement
The G6-T2 transmitter is powered by one 12V Alkaline battery. If the operating range decreases significantly or the red indicator light does not illuminate when a button is pressed, it is time to replace the battery.
Replacement Procedure:
- Carefully open the casing of the G6-T2 transmitter. This may involve gently prying apart the two halves of the remote, often at a seam.
- Remove the old 12V Alkaline battery.
- Insert a new 12V Alkaline battery, ensuring the correct polarity (+ and -) is observed.
- Snap the casing back together securely.
- Test the transmitter to ensure proper function.
Note: Dispose of old batteries according to local regulations.
