- Adjust the multi-position handle to a comfortable operating height and tighten the locking mechanism.
- Ensure all connections are firm before proceeding.
Fueling the Trimmer:
- The TB22 uses a 2-cycle engine, requiring a specific gasoline and oil mixture. Refer to the engine manufacturer's instructions for the correct mixing ratio (typically 40:1 or 50:1).
- Use fresh, clean, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher.
- Mix the fuel in a separate, approved fuel container.
- Carefully pour the mixed fuel into the trimmer's fuel tank, avoiding overfilling.
- CAUTION: Always refuel in a well-ventilated area, away from open flames or sparks.
Operating Instructions
Starting the Trimmer:
- Place the trimmer on a flat, stable surface.
- Prime the engine by pressing the primer bulb several times until fuel is visible.
- Set the choke to the "FULL CHOKE" position.
- Pull the starter rope firmly and smoothly until the engine attempts to start (usually 1-3 pulls).
- Once the engine "pops" or attempts to start, move the choke to the "HALF CHOKE" position.
- Pull the starter rope again until the engine starts.
- Allow the engine to warm up for a few seconds, then move the choke to the "RUN" position.
- If the engine does not start after several pulls, refer to the Troubleshooting section.
Using the Trimmer:
- Wear appropriate safety gear, including eye protection, hearing protection, long pants, and sturdy footwear.
- Hold the trimmer firmly with both hands, maintaining a balanced stance.
- Keep the cutting head away from your body and other objects.
- To extend the cutting line, tap the bumphead lightly on the ground while the engine is running at full throttle.
- Trim grass and weeds by swinging the trimmer in a smooth, sweeping motion.
