When not in use for extended periods, store the keyboard in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Cover the keyboard to protect it from dust.
4.3 General Care
- Avoid placing heavy objects on the keyboard.
- Do not expose the keyboard to excessive moisture or liquids.
- Protect the keyboard from strong impacts or vibrations.
5. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your Casio WK6500 keyboard.
5.1 No Sound or Low Volume
- Check if the power is on and the AC adapter is securely connected.
- Ensure the master volume knob is turned up.
- If headphones are connected, disconnect them to check speaker output.
- Verify that individual track or instrument volumes in the mixer are not set to zero.
5.2 Sustain Pedal Malfunction
If the sustain pedal causes arbitrary notes to sound or tones to hold indefinitely:
- Ensure the sustain pedal is fully inserted into the correct jack.
- Try disconnecting and reconnecting the pedal.
- Test with a different sustain pedal if available to rule out a pedal defect.
- Power cycle the keyboard (turn off, then on) after connecting the pedal.
5.3 Keys Not Responding or Distorted Sound
If certain keys do not respond, or the sound is distorted, especially in specific modes:
- Perform a factory reset (refer to the full user manual for specific instructions on how to do this, as it may vary).
- Ensure no foreign objects are lodged under the keys.
- Check for any active effects or settings that might be causing the distortion.
- If the issue persists, contact Casio customer support.
