4. Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning the Camera
- Lens: Use a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for optical lenses. For stubborn smudges, use a small amount of lens cleaning fluid applied to the cloth, not directly to the lens.
- Body: Wipe the camera body with a soft, dry cloth. For dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water and then wipe dry. Avoid using harsh chemicals or solvents.
- LCD Screen: Use a soft, dry cloth. Avoid pressing hard on the screen.
4.2 Battery Care
- Store batteries in a cool, dry place when not in use.
- Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently to prolong its lifespan.
- Do not expose batteries to extreme temperatures.
4.3 Storage
When storing the camera for extended periods, remove the battery and memory card. Store the camera in a dry, dust-free environment, preferably in a camera bag or case.
5. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter. For more detailed troubleshooting, refer to the full instruction manual on the included CD-ROM.
5.1 Camera Does Not Power On
- Ensure the battery is fully charged and correctly inserted.
- Check that the battery compartment cover is securely closed.
- If using an AC adapter (sold separately), ensure it is properly connected.
5.2 Images Are Blurry
- Ensure the lens is clean and free from smudges.
- Check that the camera has successfully focused before taking the shot (half-press the shutter button).
- In low light, use the flash or increase the ISO sensitivity (this may introduce noise).
- Hold the camera steady or use a tripod, especially with longer zoom settings or slower shutter speeds.
5.3 Memory Card Error
- Ensure the memory card is inserted correctly.
- Check if the memory card is locked (small switch on the side of the card). Unlock it if necessary.
- Try formatting the memory card in the camera (note: this will erase all data).
- If the issue persists, try a different compatible memory card.
