Important Safeguards

Before First Use

Before using your new coffee maker for the first time, it is important to clean all removable parts and run a brewing cycle with water only.

1. Wash the reusable filter basket, 12 oz. mug, and drip tray in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
2. Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth.
3. Fill the 12 oz. mug with clean water and pour it into the water reservoir.
4. Place the empty reusable filter basket into its holder.
5. Place the empty 12 oz. mug on the drip tray.
6. Close the hinged lid securely.
7. Plug the coffee maker into a standard electrical outlet.
8. Press the power button to start the brewing cycle. The illuminated power light will turn on.
9. Allow the cycle to complete. Discard the hot water.
10. Your coffee maker is now ready for use.

1. Place the coffee maker on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface.

Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to brew a fresh cup of coffee:

1. Open the hinged lid of the coffee maker.
2. Remove the reusable filter basket.
3. Add your desired amount of ground coffee to the reusable filter basket. For stronger coffee, use more grounds. Do not overfill.
4. Place the filled filter basket back into its holder inside the coffee maker.
5. Fill the 12 oz. mug (or your preferred mug) with fresh, cold water.
6. Pour the water from the mug into the water reservoir of the coffee maker. Do not exceed the maximum fill line.
7. Place the empty mug onto the drip tray.
8. Close the hinged lid securely. Ensure the push button on the lid is fully actuated for proper closure.
9. Press the power button located on the side of the unit. The illuminated power light will turn on, indicating that brewing has started.
10. The coffee maker will automatically shut off once the brewing cycle is complete.
11. Carefully remove your freshly brewed coffee. Enjoy!

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity of your coffee maker.

Daily Cleaning:

• After each use, unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool.
• Remove the reusable filter basket and discard used coffee grounds. Rinse the filter basket under running water. It is also dishwasher safe.
• Remove and rinse the drip tray and its cover.
• Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.

Periodic Descaling:

Mineral deposits from water can build up over time and affect performance. Descale your coffee maker every 2-3 months, or more frequently if you have hard water.

1. Fill the water reservoir with a mixture of 1 part white vinegar and 2 parts water.
2. Place an empty mug on the drip tray.
3. Run a brewing cycle with the vinegar solution.
4. After the cycle, let the coffee maker sit for 15-20 minutes.
5. Run 2-3 cycles with fresh, clean water to rinse out any remaining vinegar taste.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your coffee maker, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

• Coffee not brewing: Ensure the unit is plugged in, the power button is pressed (light illuminated), and the water reservoir has sufficient water. Check that the lid is securely closed.
• Weak coffee: Increase the amount of coffee grounds used. Ensure the water reservoir is not overfilled.
• Lid not closing properly: Ensure the reusable filter basket is correctly seated. The push button on the lid needs to be fully actuated to ensure the lid opens and closes properly.
