Setup
1. Charging the Battery
Before initial use, fully charge the supplied NP-80 lithium-ion battery. Insert the battery into the dedicated charger and connect the charger to a power outlet. The charging indicator will show the charging status.
2. Inserting the Battery and Memory Card
Open the battery/memory card compartment cover on the bottom of the camera. Insert the fully charged NP-80 battery with the correct orientation. Insert an SD or SDHC memory card into the card slot until it clicks into place. Close the compartment cover securely.

3. Initial Settings
Upon first power-on, the camera may prompt you to set the date, time, and language. Follow the on-screen instructions using the directional buttons and the SET button.
Operating the Camera
Power On/Off
Press the POWER button located on the top of the camera to turn it on or off.
Taking Still Photos
- Turn on the camera.
- Frame your shot using the LCD monitor.
- Press the Shutter Button halfway down to focus. The focus frame will turn green when focus is achieved.
- Press the Shutter Button fully to take the picture.
Recording Videos
The camera supports HD quality movies (1280 x 720 at 24 fps) and standard definition. To record a video:
- Press the dedicated Movie Record Button (red circle icon) on the back of the camera to start recording.
- Press the Movie Record Button again to stop recording.
Zoom Function
Use the zoom lever around the shutter button to adjust the focal length. The camera features a 10x optical zoom (approximately 24mm ultra-wide to 240mm telephoto equivalent) and a 4x digital zoom.
Playback Mode
To view your photos and videos, press the Playback Button (green triangle icon) on the back of the camera. Use the directional buttons to navigate through your media.
Deleting Images/Videos
In Playback Mode, select the image or video you wish to delete. Press the Delete Button (trash can icon) and confirm your selection.
Maintenance
Camera Body Care
- Wipe the camera body with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a cloth lightly dampened with water and then wipe dry.
- Do not use organic solvents such as alcohol, benzene, or paint thinner, as they can damage the camera's finish.
Lens and LCD Screen Care
- Gently wipe the lens and LCD screen with a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for optical surfaces.
- Avoid touching the lens or screen with your fingers to prevent smudges.
Storage
- When not in use for extended periods, remove the battery from the camera.
- Store the camera in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
