2. Safety Instructions
Always observe the following safety precautions to prevent electric shock, fire, and serious injury.
- Work Area Safety: Keep your work area clean and well-lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust.
- Electrical Safety: Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling, or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges, or moving parts.
- Personal Safety: Always wear eye protection. Use hearing protection when operating impact drills. Wear a dust mask if drilling is dusty. Dress properly; avoid loose clothing or jewelry.
- Power Tool Use and Care: Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. Disconnect the plug from the power source before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools.
- Kickback and Related Warnings: Always hold the tool firmly with both hands and position your body and arm to allow you to resist kickback forces.

The Bosch PSB 650 RE offers versatile operation for various materials.
5.1 Powering On/Off and Speed Control
- Plug the drill into a suitable 220V power outlet.
- To start the drill, press the trigger switch. The speed is variable depending on how far you press the trigger.

- To turn off, release the trigger switch.
5.2 Forward/Reverse Operation
The forward/reverse switch is located above the trigger. Push it to the left for forward rotation (drilling/screwdriving) and to the right for reverse rotation (removing screws or freeing jammed bits).
5.3 Selecting Drilling Mode
Use the red selector switch on top of the drill to choose between:
- Drilling Mode (Drill Bit Symbol): For drilling in wood, metal, plastic, and ceramics.
- Impact Drilling Mode (Hammer Symbol): For drilling in concrete, masonry, and stone.
5.4 Drilling Applications
