Preparation and Application (Setup & Operating)

1. Surface Preparation

2. Application

1. Shake the can vigorously for at least one minute after the mixing ball begins to rattle. Continue to shake occasionally during use.
2. Hold the can 10-12 inches from the surface and apply in light, even coats.
3. Allow 10 minutes between coats for flash-off. Apply 2-3 light coats for optimal coverage and finish.
4. Avoid heavy coats to prevent runs and ensure proper curing.

3. Curing Process

For the VHT Flame Proof paint to achieve its maximum heat resistance and durability, a proper curing process is essential. This can be done by either baking the component or by gradually heating the engine once the component is installed.

• Baking Method: If possible, bake the painted component in an oven at 250°F (121°C) for 30 minutes, then increase to 400°F (204°C) for 30 minutes, and finally to 600°F (316°C) for 30 minutes. Allow to cool completely.
• Engine Heat Method: Install the painted component. Run the engine at idle for 10 minutes, then cool for 20 minutes. Run the engine at 2500 RPM for 10 minutes, then cool for 20 minutes. Finally, run the engine under normal operating conditions for 30 minutes. This gradual heating allows the paint to cure effectively.

Maintenance
