Maintenance

Battery Life

The camera operates on four D-cell batteries. Battery life will vary depending on usage, temperature, and the number of images/videos captured. Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the screen.

SD Card Management

Regularly check and clear your SD card to ensure continuous recording. Format the SD card periodically to maintain optimal performance. The camera supports up to an 8GB SD card.

Cleaning

Keep the camera lens and infrared LEDs clean and free from dirt, dust, or debris to ensure clear image quality. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.

Troubleshooting

  • Camera not powering on: Ensure batteries are correctly installed and fully charged. Check for corrosion in the battery compartment.
  • No images/videos captured: Verify the SD card is inserted correctly and has sufficient free space. Check that the camera is in the correct operating mode (Photo or Video) and that the trigger sensitivity is appropriate for the environment.
  • Poor image quality: Clean the camera lens and infrared LEDs. Ensure the camera is securely mounted and not subject to excessive movement. Check battery levels, as low power can affect performance.
  • Night images are dark or blurry: Confirm the camera's night vision settings are enabled. Ensure there are no obstructions in front of the infrared LEDs.
  • Difficulty connecting to computer: A USB reader may be needed for connection to some Apple laptops. Ensure the SD card is properly inserted into the reader or computer slot.
