4. Operation and Settings

After installation, restore power at the circuit breaker. The flood light is equipped with a motion sensor and adjustable settings.

4.1 Motion Sensor Adjustment

The motion sensor typically has controls for SENSITIVITY, TIME, and LUX (daylight sensor). These are usually small dials located on the sensor unit.

  • SENSITIVITY: Adjusts the detection range of the motion sensor. Turn clockwise for a wider range, counter-clockwise for a narrower range. Test different settings to find the optimal detection area.
  • TIME: Controls how long the light stays on after motion is detected. Turn clockwise to increase the duration, counter-clockwise to decrease it (e.g., from a few seconds to several minutes).
  • LUX (Daylight Sensor): Determines the ambient light level at which the sensor becomes active.
    • Set to "Sun" icon for day and night operation (light will activate with motion regardless of ambient light).
    • Set to "Moon" icon for night-only operation (light will only activate with motion when it's dark).

Note: Allow a few minutes for the sensor to calibrate after power is restored or settings are changed.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your flood light.

  • Cleaning: Periodically clean the fixture with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the motion sensor lens is clear of dirt and debris for proper function.
  • Bulb Replacement:
    1. Turn off power at the circuit breaker.
    2. Allow bulbs to cool completely before handling.
    3. Carefully unscrew the old PAR38 bulb.
    4. Screw in a new PAR38 bulb (max 150W).
    5. Restore power.
  • Inspection: Annually inspect wiring and mounting for any signs of wear, damage, or loosening.
