8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your phone, try the following solutions before seeking professional assistance:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No dial tone. | Phone line not connected properly or line issue. | Ensure the telephone line cord is securely connected to both the phone and the wall outlet. Test with another phone if available. |
| Cannot make or receive calls. | Incorrect connection, service issue, or phone malfunction. | Check all connections. Verify your telephone service is active. If problem persists, contact your service provider. |
| LCD display is blank. | No power to the phone (unlikely for corded, but check line). | Ensure the phone line is connected. The phone draws power from the line. If the line is active, the display should function. |
| Ringer does not sound. | Ringer volume set to Off or Low. | Adjust the ringer volume switch to a higher setting. |
| Keypad lights are not working. | This feature activates upon key press or during certain operations. | Press any key to see if the backlight activates. If not, and the phone functions otherwise, this may indicate a minor issue not affecting core functionality. |
