5. Operating Instructions

Scrabble Flash utilizes SmartLink technology, allowing the electronic tiles to communicate when they touch. This enables the game to recognize formed words and track scores automatically.

Basic Gameplay:

  1. Start a Game: After powering on, the tiles will display a random set of letters.
  2. Form Words: Arrange the SmartLink tiles by sliding, swapping, and shuffling them to create valid words. The tiles must be touching for the game to recognize the word.
  3. Word Recognition: When a valid word is formed, the tiles will light up and emit a beep, confirming the word.
  4. Scoring: The game automatically keeps track of your score. At the end of a round or game, the tiles will digitally display your total score.
  5. Reset: To start a new game with a fresh set of letters, press the reset button on one of the tiles.

6. Game Modes

Scrabble Flash offers three distinct game modes for solo or group play:

6.1. Flash Mode

  • Objective: Form as many words as possible from the same five letters within a 75-second time limit.
  • Bonus: Each five-letter word successfully formed adds an additional five seconds to the timer.

6.2. Five Letter Flash Mode

  • Objective: Find one five-letter word. Upon successful completion, you receive five new letters.
  • Goal: Continue spelling as many words as possible with the new letters within the allotted 75 seconds.

6.3. Pass Flash Mode

  • Objective: Players take turns passing the tiles. The goal is to form a five-letter word within a set time limit.
  • Elimination: If a player fails to spell a word quickly enough, they are eliminated from the round. Play continues until only one player remains.

Adjustable Difficulty:

  • For younger players or a simpler challenge, any game mode can be played using only four (4) tiles instead of five.
