6. Advanced Features
6.1. Motion Panorama Mode
This mode allows you to capture ultra-wide panoramic views. Pan the camera across a scene, and the camera will automatically stitch multiple shots into a single panoramic image. Select the direction of the pan (left/right or up/down) in the menu.
6.2. Motion Remover Mode
Capture five images of a scene in quick succession. The camera then analyzes and combines these images to produce a single composite image where any moving subjects in the scene are removed. This is useful for capturing static scenes without distractions.
6.3. Multi-Motion Capture Mode
This mode captures five images of a moving subject in rapid succession and combines them into a single composite image, showing multiple instances of the subject's motion. This creates a dynamic visual effect.
6.4. Super High Speed Movie Mode
Record breathtaking slow-motion videos at speeds up to 1000 frames per second. This allows for detailed analysis of fast-moving events that are normally imperceptible to the human eye.
6.5. Low Light Performance
The FinePix HS10 features a BSI-CMOS sensor designed to significantly increase light gathering ability, resulting in improved sensitivity and reduced noise in low-light conditions. The 'Pro Low Light' mode combines multiple exposures for ultra-low noise output.
7. Maintenance
7.1. Cleaning the Camera
- Camera Body: Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a cloth lightly dampened with water or a mild cleaning solution, then wipe dry.
- Lens: Use a lens brush to remove dust, then gently wipe with a lens cleaning cloth and lens cleaning solution. Avoid touching the lens surface with your fingers.
- LCD Screen: Use a soft, dry cloth. For smudges, use a screen cleaner specifically designed for LCDs.
Caution: Never use organic solvents such as paint thinner or benzene to clean the camera. Do not spray cleaning solutions directly onto the camera.
7.2. Storage
When not in use for extended periods, remove the batteries and memory card. Store the camera in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, high temperatures, and humidity. Use a desiccant if storing in humid environments.
8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Camera does not power on. | Batteries are depleted or incorrectly inserted. | Replace with fresh batteries or reinsert correctly. Ensure battery compartment is closed. |
| Images are blurry. | Camera shake, subject movement, or incorrect focus. | Hold the camera steady, use a tripod, or enable image stabilization. Ensure proper focus. Increase shutter speed for moving subjects. |
| Flash does not fire. | Flash mode is off, or subject is too far. | Check flash settings. Ensure subject is within flash range. |
| Memory card error. | Card is full, corrupted, or incompatible. | Delete unnecessary files, format the card (this will erase all data), or try a different compatible SD/SDHC card. |
| Poor image quality in low light. | High ISO noise or insufficient light. | Use 'Pro Low Light' mode, enable flash, or use a tripod with longer exposure. |
