The Pandigital Portable Photo Printer utilizes ZINK Zero Ink Technology to produce 4x6 inch color photos without the need for traditional ink cartridges. Setup
1. Unpacking and Initial Inspection
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Verify that the following items are included:
- Pandigital PANPRINT01 Photo Printer
- AC Adaptor
- USB Cable
- ZINK Photo Paper (starter pack, if included)
Inspect the printer for any visible damage. If any components are missing or damaged, contact customer support.
2. Connecting Power
Connect the provided AC Adaptor to the printer's power input port and then plug the adaptor into a standard electrical outlet.
3. Loading ZINK Photo Paper
The Pandigital PANPRINT01 uses special ZINK (Zero Ink) photo paper.
- Open the paper tray cover.
- Insert the ZINK photo paper stack into the tray, ensuring the glossy side is facing up.
- Place the blue calibration sheet (if present in the paper pack) at the bottom of the stack, with the barcode facing down. This sheet is used for printer calibration and should be printed once per new pack of paper.
- Close the paper tray cover securely.
Note: The maximum input sheet capacity is 80 sheets.
4. Inserting a Memory Card (Optional)
The printer supports SD, XD, MS, MS Pro, and MMC memory cards.
- Locate the memory card slot on the side of the printer.
- Insert your compatible memory card into the slot until it clicks into place.
5. Connecting to a Computer (Optional)
To print directly from a computer, use the provided USB cable.
- Connect one end of the USB cable to the printer's USB port.
- Connect the other end to an available USB port on your computer.
- Follow the on-screen prompts on your computer to install any necessary drivers.
Operating Instructions
1. Powering On/Off
Press the power button (usually marked with a circle and a vertical line) to turn the printer on or off. The LCD display will illuminate.
2. Printing from a Memory Card
Once a memory card is inserted, the printer's 1.4-inch LCD screen will display the images.
- Use the navigation buttons (up/down/left/right arrows) to browse through your photos on the display.
- Press the "Enter" button to select a photo for printing.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm print settings (e.g., number of copies).
- Press "Print" or "OK" to start printing.
Note: Browsing a large number of photos on the device may be slow.
3. Printing from a Computer
After connecting the printer via USB and installing drivers:
- Open the image you wish to print on your computer using your preferred photo viewing or editing software.
- Select "Print" from the file menu.
- Choose the Pandigital PANPRINT01 as your printer.
- Adjust print settings as desired (e.g., paper size 4x6 inches, borderless printing).
- Initiate the print job.
The printer supports a maximum color print resolution of 400 x 400 DPI. Print time is approximately 60 seconds per photo.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning the Printer
To ensure optimal print quality, it is important to keep the printer clean. Dust or debris inside the printer or paper magazine can cause lines on your printed images.
- Use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently wipe the exterior of the printer.
- For internal cleaning, refer to the specific instructions provided with your ZINK paper pack, which often includes a cleaning sheet.
- Avoid using liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
2. Paper Storage
ZINK photo paper is designed for long-term storage. Store unused paper in its original packaging in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures to maintain its quality.
