Setup Guide

1. Inserting Batteries

1. Locate the battery chamber cover on the side of the camera.
2. Slide the release latch to open the cover.

2. Inserting a Memory Card

1. Open the battery/memory card compartment cover.
2. Insert the SD/SDHC memory card into the designated slot with the label facing the front of the camera until it clicks into place.

Operating the Camera

1. Powering On/Off

Press the ON/OFF button located on the top of the camera to power it on or off.

2. Basic Shooting (Easy Auto Mode)

For simple point-and-shoot operation, use the Easy Auto Mode. In this mode, the camera automatically selects the optimal scene mode based on the subject and surrounding conditions.

1. Turn the camera on.

3. Zooming

4. Smart Portrait System

The Smart Portrait System enhances portrait photography:

• Face-priority AF: Automatically detects and focuses on up to 12 faces in the frame.
• Smile Mode: Automatically releases the shutter when a smile is detected.
• Blink Warning: Alerts you if a subject may have blinked.
• In-Camera Red-Eye Fix: Corrects red-eye effect automatically after the photo is taken.

5. Recording Movies

To record a movie, switch to movie mode (if available via a dedicated button or menu option) and press the shutter button to start/stop recording. The camera captures 640 x 480 movies with sound at 30 frames per second.
