Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure all parts are present: the weighing platform, the remote display unit, and the connecting cable.
- Battery Installation: The seca 869 requires 4 AA batteries (included). Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the display unit. Open the compartment, insert the batteries according to the polarity indicators, and close the cover securely.
- Connecting the Display: Connect the cable from the weighing platform to the designated port on the remote display unit. Ensure the connection is firm. The cable is approximately 6.5 feet long, allowing for flexible placement.

Operating Instructions
- Power On/Off: Press the "Start" button to turn on the scale. The display will show "0.0" when ready for measurement. The scale features an automatic switch-off function to conserve battery life.
- Weighing: Step onto the center of the weighing platform. Stand still until the measurement stabilizes. The weight will be displayed on the remote unit.
- Units Switch-over (lbs/kg): Press the "kg to st" button to toggle between kilograms (kg) and pounds (lbs) or stones (st).
- TARE Function: The TARE function allows you to subtract the weight of an object (e.g., a blanket or an adult holding a child) to measure only the net weight.
- Place the object (or person holding a child) on the scale.
- Press the "Tare" button. The display will reset to "0.0".
- Now, place the item to be weighed (or the child) on the scale. The display will show its net weight.
- HOLD Function: The HOLD function keeps the measurement displayed even after the person steps off the scale. This is useful for recording readings.
- Weigh as usual.
- Press the "Hold" button while the weight is displayed. The reading will be held on the screen.
- Press "Hold" again or "Start" to clear the held reading.
