4. Operating Instructions

4.1 General Operation

  • Before starting, ensure all adjustments are secure and the work area is clear.
  • Turn on the dust extraction unit before starting the sander.
  • Use the power switch to turn the sander ON (I) and OFF (O).
  • Always hold the workpiece firmly against the work table or belt.
  • Apply light, even pressure. Excessive pressure can overload the motor and reduce sanding efficiency.

4.2 Using the Belt Sander

  • The abrasive belt can be used horizontally or vertically. To adjust the angle, loosen the locking mechanism and pivot the belt assembly to the desired position (0° to 90°). Securely tighten the lock.
  • For edge sanding, use the belt in the vertical position. For surface sanding, the horizontal position is often preferred.
  • The included abrasive belt has a grit of 60.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

  • Always disconnect the power plug before cleaning.
  • Regularly clean the machine, especially the dust extraction ports and internal areas, to prevent dust buildup. Dust accumulation can affect performance and safety.
  • Use compressed air or a brush to remove dust from the motor vents and moving parts.

5.2 Changing Abrasive Belt

  • Ensure the machine is unplugged.
  • Utilize the rapid clamping device for quick and tool-free belt changes. Follow the directional arrows on the machine for correct belt installation.

5.3 Changing Abrasive Disc

  • Ensure the machine is unplugged.
  • The original disc is glued. For replacement, it is recommended to use abrasive discs with a hook-and-loop fastening system (requires a separate hook-and-loop attachment, not included).

5.4 General Inspection

  • Periodically check all screws and fasteners for tightness.
  • Inspect the power cord for damage. Replace immediately if damaged.
  • Ensure all guards and safety features are in place and functioning correctly.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Machine does not start: Check power connection. Ensure the power switch is fully engaged. Check for tripped circuit breakers.
  • Motor stops under moderate pressure: The motor (250W) has a specific power limit. Reduce workpiece pressure. Ensure the abrasive belt/disc is not worn out, as this increases resistance.
  • Excessive dust: Ensure the external dust extraction unit is properly connected and functioning. Clean the internal dust channels of the sander.
  • Sander vibrates excessively: Check if the machine is securely mounted. Inspect abrasive belt/disc for damage or improper installation.
  • Switch failure: If the power switch becomes faulty, discontinue use immediately and contact qualified service personnel for repair or replacement.
