3. Setup
Assembly:
The grill requires some assembly. Follow the detailed instructions provided in the separate assembly manual. Ensure all parts are securely fastened before use. Pay close attention when attaching the wheels to ensure the hubcap side faces outwards for proper installation.
Initial Use:
- Before first use, wash the cooking grates and warming rack with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
- Plug the electric control unit into a grounded 120V outdoor outlet.
- Turn the control dial to the highest setting (5) and preheat the grill with the lid closed for approximately 15-20 minutes to burn off any manufacturing residues. This may produce some smoke and odor, which is normal.
- Allow the grill to cool completely before wiping down the interior with a damp cloth.
4. Operating Instructions
Preheating:
- Ensure the electric control unit is securely inserted into the grill and the power cord is plugged into a grounded outdoor outlet.
- Turn the control dial to the desired temperature setting. For searing, set to 5.
- Close the grill lid and allow the grill to preheat for 10-15 minutes, or until the desired temperature is reached as indicated by the lid thermometer.
Grilling:
- Once preheated, place food directly on the porcelain-coated cooking grates.
- Close the lid to maintain consistent temperature and ensure even cooking. The TRU-Infrared system is most effective with the lid closed.
- Monitor the internal temperature using the lid thermometer. Adjust the control dial as needed (settings 1-5, with 5 being the highest heat).
- Use the warming rack for keeping cooked food warm or for indirect cooking of delicate items.
- After cooking, turn the control dial to the 'OFF' position (0) and unplug the power cord from the outlet and the grill.

5. Maintenance
Cleaning:
- After Each Use: Allow the grill to cool completely. Remove the cooking grates and warming rack. Scrape off any food residue with a grill brush.
- Grates and Rack: Wash porcelain-coated grates and the warming rack with warm, soapy water. For stubborn residue, soak before scrubbing.
- Drip Pan: The drip pan located underneath the grill bowl should be emptied after every use once the grill cools down. It slides in and out easily for this task.
- Exterior: Wipe down the exterior surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage the finish.
- Electrical Components: Ensure the electric control unit and power cord are completely dry before storage or next use. Do not immerse in water.
Storage:
- Store the electric control unit indoors in a dry place.
- If storing the grill outdoors, use a weather-resistant grill cover to protect it from the elements.
6. Troubleshooting
- Grill Not Heating:
- Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working grounded outlet.
- Verify the electric control unit is fully inserted into the grill.
- Check your household circuit breaker or fuse box.
- Uneven Heating:
- Ensure the lid is closed during preheating and cooking to allow the TRU-Infrared system to work effectively.
- Allow sufficient preheating time (10-15 minutes) before placing food on the grates.
- On windy days, the grill may struggle to maintain consistent high temperatures. Consider positioning the grill in a more sheltered area.
- Food Sticking to Grates:
- Ensure grates are clean before use.
- Lightly oil the grates before placing food.
- Preheat the grill to the recommended temperature for the food being cooked.
