Setup and Installation

  1. Mounting: Securely attach the hoist to a suitable overhead support using the integrated mounting bracket. Ensure the mounting point can safely support the hoist's weight plus the maximum intended load.
  2. Tool Attachment: Connect the tool or equipment to be suspended to the hoist's lower attachment point. Ensure the connection is secure and the tool's weight does not exceed the hoist's capacity.
  3. Tension Adjustment: The RB2 features easy tension adjustment. To adjust the spring tension, rotate the adjustment knob located on the side of the unit. Turn clockwise to increase tension (for heavier tools) and counter-clockwise to decrease tension (for lighter tools). Adjust until the tool remains suspended at the desired height with minimal effort.

Operating Instructions

Once installed and adjusted, the Aero-Motive RB2 Retractor Spring Hoist operates by providing counter-balance to the suspended tool, making it feel weightless and reducing operator fatigue.

  • Grasp the suspended tool and pull it down to the desired working position. The hoist will extend smoothly.
  • When you release the tool, the hoist will retract it back to its original suspended position.
  • The 360° swivel hanger allows for flexible positioning and movement of the tool within its working radius.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your Aero-Motive RB2 Retractor Spring Hoist.

  • Daily Inspection: Before each use, visually inspect the hoist for any signs of damage, cracks, loose fasteners, or excessive wear on the casing, cables, or attachment points.
  • Spring Tension Check: Periodically verify that the spring tension is appropriate for the suspended tool. Readjust if the tool sags or retracts too quickly.
  • Cleaning: Keep the hoist clean and free from dust, dirt, and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Lubrication: The internal components are designed for long life and typically do not require user lubrication. If unusual noises or stiffness occur, contact qualified service personnel.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the hoist in a clean, dry environment, protected from extreme temperatures and humidity.

Warning:

Do not attempt to disassemble the hoist. The spring mechanism is under tension and can cause injury if improperly handled. Refer all internal servicing to authorized service centers.
