Model: VX37L

1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and proper installation and operation of your Brateck Tilting Wall Mount Bracket, model VX37L. This mount is designed to securely hold most 36" to 63" LCD and Plasma TVs, supporting VESA standards up to 750 x 450, with a maximum weight capacity of 165 lbs. Please read this manual thoroughly before beginning installation.

2. Important Safety Information

WARNING: Failure to read and follow these instructions can result in serious personal injury, property damage, or voiding of your warranty. If you do not understand these instructions or have doubts about the safety of the installation, please contact a qualified installer.

  • Do not install this product on walls that are not structurally sound. Ensure the mounting surface can safely support the combined weight of the mount and the display.
  • Always use a stud finder to locate wooden studs. If mounting to concrete or brick, use appropriate anchors (not always included).
  • Do not exceed the maximum weight capacity of 165 lbs (75 kg).
  • Ensure all screws are tightened securely, but do not overtighten.
  • Keep all components out of reach of children.
  • Wear appropriate safety gear during installation, including eye protection.

3. Package Contents

Verify that all components are present and undamaged before installation. If any parts are missing or defective, contact your retailer for assistance.

  • Stud Finder
  • Level (built-in on mount, but an additional one is recommended)
  • Measuring Tape
  • Pencil

4.2. Pre-Installation Checks

  • Wall Type: Determine if your wall is wood stud, concrete, or brick. Different mounting hardware and techniques are required.
  • VESA Compatibility: Check the VESA mounting pattern on the back of your TV. This mount supports VESA patterns up to 750mm (horizontal) x 450mm (vertical). Refer to the diagram below for visual reference.
  • Weight Capacity: Ensure your TV's weight does not exceed 165 lbs (75 kg).

4.3. Mounting the Wall Plate

  1. Determine Mounting Height: Decide the desired height for the center of your TV. Mark this spot on the wall.
  2. Locate Studs: Use a stud finder to locate the center of at least two adjacent wooden studs. Mark their positions. The wall plate measures 32" wide, so it can span two 16" on-center studs.
  3. Position Wall Plate: Hold the wall plate against the wall, aligning its center with your marked TV center and ensuring the mounting holes align with the stud centers. Use the built-in level to ensure it is perfectly horizontal. Mark the drill points.
  4. Drill Pilot Holes: Drill pilot holes at the marked locations. For wood studs, use a drill bit slightly smaller than the lag bolts. For concrete/brick, use a masonry drill bit and insert appropriate wall anchors (if not using studs, ensure proper anchors are used).
  5. Secure Wall Plate: Attach the wall plate to the wall using the provided lag bolts and washers. Tighten securely with a wrench, but do not overtighten.

4.4. Attaching TV Bracket Arms to TV

  1. Select Screws: Choose the correct diameter and length of screws that fit your TV's mounting holes. Use washers if necessary to prevent damage to the TV.
  2. Attach Arms: Carefully place the TV face down on a soft, clean surface. Align the TV bracket arms with the mounting holes on the back of your TV. Ensure the arms are oriented correctly (hooks facing downwards).
  3. Secure Arms: Insert the chosen screws through the bracket arms and into the TV's mounting holes. Tighten securely with a screwdriver, but do not overtighten.

4.5. Hanging the TV on the Wall Plate

  1. Lift TV: With assistance, carefully lift the TV with the attached bracket arms.
  2. Hook onto Wall Plate: Align the hooks on the TV bracket arms with the top edge of the wall plate. Gently lower the TV, ensuring both arms securely engage with the wall plate.
  3. Secure TV: Locate the safety screws or locking mechanisms on the bottom of the TV bracket arms. Tighten these to prevent the TV from accidentally lifting off the wall plate.

5. Operating Instructions (Tilting Feature)

The Brateck Tilting Wall Mount allows for a variable downward tilt from 0° to -15° to optimize your viewing angle and reduce glare.

  1. Adjusting Tilt: Loosen the tilt adjustment knobs located on the side of each TV bracket arm.
  2. Set Angle: Gently tilt the bottom of your TV forward or backward to achieve the desired viewing angle.
  3. Secure Tilt: Once the desired angle is set, tighten the tilt adjustment knobs firmly to lock the TV in position.

6. Maintenance

  • Regular Inspection: Periodically check all screws and connections to ensure they remain tight and secure.
  • Cleaning: Clean the mount with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish.
  • Damage Check: If any part of the mount appears damaged or worn, discontinue use and contact customer support.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1. TV is not level after installation

Solution: Ensure the wall plate was installed perfectly level. If not, you may need to slightly adjust the wall plate's position. Some mounts offer minor post-installation leveling adjustments on the TV bracket arms; check if your model has this feature. Always re-check all connections after adjustment.

7.2. TV feels unstable or loose

Solution: Immediately remove the TV from the mount. Re-check all wall plate mounting screws and TV bracket arm screws for tightness. Ensure the wall structure is adequate and that the correct anchors were used. Verify the TV's weight does not exceed the mount's capacity. Ensure the safety screws/locking mechanisms are engaged.

7.3. Difficulty tilting the TV

Solution: Ensure the tilt adjustment knobs on the TV bracket arms are sufficiently loosened before attempting to adjust the angle. If they are too tight, the mechanism will resist movement. Do not force the tilt.
