Introduction

The Cat Mate 3-Level Pet Fountain is designed to provide your pets with a continuous supply of fresh, filtered water. Its multi-level design caters to various pet sizes and preferences, encouraging hydration which is vital for their health. This fountain features a 3-stage filtration system and a low-voltage pump for quiet and efficient operation. Made from BPA and BHT-free materials, it ensures a safe drinking experience for your beloved companions.

Setup Instructions

  1. Clean All Parts: Thoroughly wash all fountain components (base, upper unit, pump, filter housing) with warm, soapy water before first use. Rinse well.

  2. Prepare the Filter: Rinse the 3-stage filter cartridge under cool running water for 30 seconds to remove any loose carbon dust. This is a crucial step for optimal filtration.

  3. Install the Filter and Pump: Place the rinsed filter cartridge into its designated slot in the fountain base. Ensure the pump is securely attached to the bottom of the upper fountain unit, and the power cord is routed through the designated channel.

  4. Assemble the Fountain: Carefully place the upper fountain unit onto the base, ensuring it sits firmly and the pump's outlet aligns with the water flow channel.
  5. Fill with Water: Fill the fountain with fresh water up to the MAX fill line indicated on the side of the base. Do not overfill. Ensure the water level is always above the minimum mark to prevent pump damage.

  6. Connect Power: Connect the power adapter to the fountain's power cord, then plug the adapter into a standard electrical outlet. The fountain should begin operating immediately.

Operating Instructions

Once assembled and plugged in, the Cat Mate Pet Fountain will continuously circulate water, providing fresh hydration for your pets. The multi-level design offers various drinking options:

Monitor the water level daily and refill as needed to ensure continuous operation and prevent pump damage. The fountain is designed for quiet operation, but a slight trickling sound may be audible, which can encourage pets to drink.

Maintenance

Daily Maintenance:

Weekly Cleaning:

  1. Unplug the fountain from the power outlet.
  2. Disassemble all components: base, upper unit, pump, and filter.
  3. Wash the fountain base and upper unit. These parts are dishwasher safe (top rack recommended). For hand washing, use warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
  4. Clean the pump: Disassemble the pump by removing the cover and impeller. Use the provided cleaning brush to remove any debris, hair, or mineral buildup from the impeller and inside the pump housing. Rinse all pump parts thoroughly.
  5. Reassemble the pump and fountain.

Filter Replacement:

The 3-stage filter cartridge should be replaced approximately every 4 weeks, or more frequently if you have multiple pets or notice reduced water flow. Replacement filters are available separately.

Troubleshooting

  • Fountain not on a level surface.
  • Refill water to the MAX line.
  • Clean the pump and ensure no air bubbles are trapped.
  • Place fountain on a flat, stable surface.
Water tastes bad / Odor
  • Filter needs replacement.
  • Fountain needs cleaning.
  • Replace the filter cartridge.
  • Perform a thorough cleaning of all fountain components.
