The SW269 Sport Timer features a large digital display and three primary control buttons:

Setup

Battery Installation/Replacement

The SW269 Sport Timer uses one CR2016 lithium battery. If the display is dim or unresponsive, the battery may need replacement.

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the stopwatch.
  2. Use a small screwdriver or coin to open the battery cover.
  3. Remove the old CR2016 battery, noting its polarity.
  4. Insert a new CR2016 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
  5. Securely close the battery cover.

Note: Dispose of used batteries responsibly.

Initial Time and Date Setting

After battery installation, the device will power on. You will need to set the current time and date.

  1. Ensure the stopwatch is in Normal Time Mode. Press the MODE button repeatedly until the time is displayed.
  2. Press and hold the LAP/SPLIT/RESET button for a few seconds until the seconds digit starts flashing. This indicates setting mode.
  3. Press the START/STOP button to advance the flashing digit (seconds, minutes, hours, month, date, day).
  4. Use the LAP/SPLIT/RESET button to adjust the value of the flashing digit.
  5. Continue pressing START/STOP and LAP/SPLIT/RESET until all time and date settings are correct.
  6. Press the MODE button to exit setting mode.

Operating Instructions

Mode Selection

Press the MODE button to cycle through the following modes:

  • Normal Time Mode: Displays current time, date, and day.
  • Stopwatch Mode: For timing events.
  • Alarm/Chime Mode: For setting and activating the daily alarm and hourly chime.

Normal Time Mode Functions

  • 12/24 Hour Format: In Normal Time Mode, press the START/STOP button to toggle between 12-hour (with AM/PM indicator) and 24-hour formats.
  • US/UK Calendar Format: In Normal Time Mode, press and hold the START/STOP button for a few seconds to switch between Month/Date (US) and Date/Month (UK) display formats.

Stopwatch Mode Functions

Press the MODE button until "STOP WATCH" or a similar indicator appears on the display.

  1. Start Timing: Press the START/STOP button to begin timing. The display will show elapsed time with 1/100 second precision for the first 40 minutes.
  2. Pause/Resume Timing: Press the START/STOP button again to pause timing. Press it once more to resume.
  3. Lap/Split Time: While the stopwatch is running, press the LAP/SPLIT/RESET button to record a lap or split time. The display will momentarily show the lap time while the stopwatch continues to run in the background. The device can store up to 8 lap times.
  4. Reset Stopwatch: When the stopwatch is paused, press the LAP/SPLIT/RESET button to reset the time to zero.

Alarm and Chime Functions

Press the MODE button until "ALARM" or a bell icon appears on the display.

  1. Set Alarm Time: In Alarm Mode, press and hold the LAP/SPLIT/RESET button until the alarm hour flashes. Use the START/STOP button to adjust the hour, then press LAP/SPLIT/RESET to move to minutes and adjust with START/STOP. Press MODE to exit.
  2. Activate/Deactivate Alarm: In Alarm Mode, press the START/STOP button to toggle the alarm ON or OFF. An alarm icon will appear when activated.
  3. Activate/Deactivate Hourly Chime: In Alarm Mode, press the LAP/SPLIT/RESET button to toggle the hourly chime ON or OFF. A chime icon will appear when activated.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the stopwatch with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace the CR2016 battery as described in the Setup section when the display dims or functions become erratic. Ensure proper disposal of old batteries.
