Setup Instructions
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the applicator and all accessories from the packaging. Verify all components listed in the "Included Components" section are present.
- Air Supply Connection: Connect a compressed air hose (not included) to the rotating air hose connector at the base of the handle. Ensure the connection is secure and leak-free. The maximum input pressure is 145 PSI.
- Regulator Adjustment: The applicator features an adjustable air regulator. Before use, adjust the regulator to the desired operating pressure, typically between 0-125 PSI, depending on the material viscosity and desired flow rate.
- Loading Material:
- Unscrew the quick release end cap from the rear of the aluminum barrel.
- Insert the 20 oz (600 ml) sausage material into the barrel.
- Ensure the plunger system is retracted to allow for full insertion of the sausage.
- Replace and securely tighten the quick release end cap.
- Nozzle Attachment: Select an appropriate white cone nozzle for your application and securely attach it to the front of the applicator barrel. Trim the nozzle tip to the desired bead size.
Operating Instructions
- Safety First: Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses and gloves, when operating the applicator. Ensure adequate ventilation in your workspace.
- Initiating Flow: Point the nozzle at a scrap surface. Gently press the trigger to begin material flow. Adjust the air regulator as needed to achieve a consistent and smooth bead.
- Application: Apply the material by moving the applicator smoothly along the desired path. Maintain consistent pressure on the trigger for an even bead.
- Stopping Flow: Release the trigger to stop material flow. The instant dump valve will release pressure, preventing material from continuing to dispense.
- Material Change/Removal: To change or remove material, ensure the air supply is disconnected. Unscrew the quick release end cap and carefully remove the sausage.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your COX pneumatic applicator.
- Cleaning: After each use, especially when using fast-curing materials, clean any residual material from the nozzle and the inside of the barrel. Use appropriate solvents recommended by the material manufacturer.
- Plunger System: Periodically inspect the plunger and its cord for wear or damage. Ensure the plunger moves freely within the barrel.
- Air Connections: Check all air connections and hoses regularly for leaks or damage. Replace worn seals or fittings as necessary.
- Lubrication: Apply a small amount of pneumatic tool oil to the air inlet periodically to lubricate internal components and prevent corrosion.
- Storage: Store the applicator in a clean, dry place away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight. Disconnect from air supply before storage.
