1. Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of your Monacor PA-702 PA Amplifier. The PA-702 is a mono mixer amplifier designed for public address (PA) applications, featuring 1 x 35 WRMS output power. It operates silently due to its fanless cooling system and includes multiple input options for microphones and auxiliary audio sources, along with a 3-way equalizer for output control.

4. Setup

  1. Placement: Position the amplifier on a flat, stable surface, ensuring sufficient space around the unit for proper ventilation. Avoid direct sunlight, heat sources, and damp environments.
  2. Speaker Connection:
    • Connect your loudspeakers to the "OUTPUT" terminals on the rear panel. Use the "COM" terminal as the common ground.
    • For low-impedance speakers, connect to the "4Ω" terminal.
    • For 100V line speakers, connect to the "100V" terminal. Ensure correct polarity.
  3. Microphone Connection: Insert your low-impedance microphones into the "MIC 1" or "MIC 2" 6.3mm jack inputs on the rear panel.
  4. Audio Source Connection:
    • For auxiliary devices (e.g., CD player, smartphone), connect to the "AUX" RCA inputs.
    • For a turntable, connect to the "PHONO" RCA inputs.
  5. Power Connection: Ensure all audio connections are secure. Set all volume controls to minimum. Connect the supplied power cable to the "POWER INPUT" socket on the rear panel and then to a suitable mains outlet.

5. Operating Instructions

  1. Power On: Press the "POWER" switch on the front panel. The LED indicator will illuminate.
  2. Input Level Adjustment: Gradually increase the "MC1", "MC2", or "PHONO/AUX" input level controls for the active source until the desired input volume is achieved.
  3. Equalizer Adjustment: Use the "FREQUENCY EQUALIZER" knobs (150Hz, 1kHz, 8kHz) to adjust the bass, mid-range, and treble frequencies to suit your audio preference and acoustic environment.
  4. Master Volume: Slowly turn the "MASTER VOLUME" control clockwise to increase the overall output volume to the desired level.
  5. Talk Button Function (if connected): If a talk button is connected to the "PRIORITY" terminal, pressing it will temporarily mute other audio sources, allowing microphone announcements to be heard clearly.
  6. Power Off: When finished, turn the "MASTER VOLUME" to minimum, then press the "POWER" switch to turn off the amplifier.
