Setup
Unpacking:
Carefully remove the shredder from its packaging. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
Caster Installation:
Turn the shredder unit upside down. Insert the four casters into the designated slots on the bottom of the wastebasket. Two casters are lockable; these should be installed at the front for stability when the unit is stationary. Ensure they click securely into place.
Placement:
Place the shredder on a flat, stable surface near a standard electrical outlet. Ensure there is adequate space around the unit for ventilation and wastebasket removal.
Power Connection:

The shredder features a simple slide switch for operation:
- ON: Activates the shredder for automatic operation.

Shredding Paper
- Ensure the shredder is plugged in and the power switch is set to ON.
- Insert up to 12 sheets of paper (standard 20 lb bond) into the main paper entry slot. The shredder will automatically start shredding.
- Once shredding is complete, the shredder will automatically stop.

Shredding CDs, DVDs, and Credit Cards
- Ensure the shredder is plugged in and the power switch is set to ON.
- Locate the separate slot specifically designed for CDs, DVDs, and credit cards.
- Insert one CD, DVD, or credit card at a time into this dedicated slot. The shredder will automatically engage and destroy the item.

Maintenance
Emptying the Wastebasket
The Royal 112MX features a convenient slide-out 3.25-gallon wastebasket with a clear viewing window, allowing you to easily monitor the shred level. Empty the wastebasket regularly to prevent jams and ensure optimal performance.
- Ensure the shredder is turned OFF and unplugged.
- Pull the wastebasket straight out from the front of the shredder unit.
- Dispose of the shredded material.
- Slide the wastebasket back into the shredder until it is fully seated.

Cleaning
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the shredder with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Shredder Blades: For optimal performance and longevity, regularly oil the shredder blades with a specialized shredder oil. Apply a thin line of oil across the paper entry slot and then run a few sheets of paper through the shredder.
Overheat Protection
The Royal 112MX is equipped with an overheat protection system. If the shredder is used continuously for an extended period, it may automatically shut off to prevent damage. If this occurs, allow the shredder to cool down for approximately 30 minutes before resuming operation.
