6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

To clean the penlight, wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the finish or internal components. Keep the lens free of dirt and debris for optimal light output.

6.2 Battery Replacement

Replace batteries when the light output diminishes or the penlight fails to turn on. Always replace both AAA batteries simultaneously with new ones to ensure consistent performance. Refer to Section 4.1 for battery installation instructions.

6.3 Storage

When storing the penlight for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent potential leakage and damage to the device. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Light does not turn on:
    • Ensure batteries are inserted correctly with the proper polarity.
    • Check if the batteries are depleted and replace them if necessary.
    • Confirm the tail cap is fully tightened.
  • Light flickers or is dim:
    • Replace both AAA batteries with new ones.
    • Ensure the tail cap is securely tightened, as a loose connection can cause flickering.
