Power Connection
Connect the power cord to the machine and then to a suitable 110-volt electrical outlet. This machine is designed for United States and Canadian use only.
Bobbin Winding and Insertion
The Drop & Sew bobbin system simplifies bobbin preparation. Place a bobbin into the bobbin case. Guide the thread tail into the designated groove. The machine will automatically draw up the bobbin thread when you begin sewing, eliminating the need for manual retrieval.

Threading the Machine
Follow the numbered threading path indicated on the machine. The built-in needle threader assists in quickly and easily threading the needle. Ensure the presser foot is raised before threading to allow the thread to seat correctly in the tension discs.
Operating Instructions
Selecting Stitches
The SINGER Confidence 7469Q features 98 built-in stitches, including seven fully automatic one-step buttonholes. Use the control panel to select your desired stitch. The machine's display will show the selected stitch number.

Adjusting Stitch Length and Width
Adjust the stitch length and width using the dedicated controls on the machine's panel. These electronic controls allow for precise customization of your stitches to suit various fabric types and project requirements.
Using the Needle Up/Down Feature
The programmable needle up/down feature allows you to stop the needle in either the up or down position. This is particularly useful for pivoting fabric, especially during quilting, ensuring precise corners and turns.
Quilting with the Extension Table
For quilting projects, attach the included extension table to provide a larger work surface, supporting your fabric and making it easier to maneuver large quilts. The drop feed mechanism also aids in free-motion quilting.

Using Different Presser Feet
The machine comes with several specialized presser feet for various sewing tasks. Refer to the stitch guide for recommended presser feet for each stitch type. To change a presser foot, raise the needle and presser foot lever, then detach the current foot and snap the new one into place.

Maintenance
Cleaning the Machine
Regular cleaning is essential for maintaining your sewing machine's performance. Always unplug the machine before cleaning. Use the included lint brush to remove lint and dust from the bobbin area and feed dogs. Periodically clean the exterior with a soft, dry cloth.
Troubleshooting
- Skipped Stitches: Ensure the needle is inserted correctly and is not bent or dull. Use the appropriate needle size and type for your fabric. Re-thread the machine, ensuring the thread is properly seated in the tension discs.
- Thread Breaking: Check for proper threading, correct tension settings, and ensure the needle is not bent or dull. Verify that the thread is not catching on any part of the machine or spool.
- Bobbin Thread Jamming: Ensure the bobbin is wound evenly and inserted correctly into the bobbin case. Clean any lint or debris from the bobbin area.
- Uneven Stitches: Check the tension settings for both upper and bobbin threads. Ensure the fabric is not being pulled or pushed excessively during sewing.
- Machine Not Powering On: Verify the power cord is securely plugged into both the machine and the electrical outlet. Check the power switch.
