Operating Instructions
Power Connection:
Connect the power cord to a suitable 115V AC power outlet. Ensure the outlet is grounded and capable of supplying the required power (1600W).
Operating Modes:
The Hilti TE 905-AVR is primarily designed for chiseling and demolition work. It operates in a single mode optimized for these tasks.
Starting and Stopping:
- To start the tool, press the trigger switch.
- To stop the tool, release the trigger switch.
- For continuous operation, engage the lock-on button (if present, typically near the trigger). To disengage, press the trigger again.
Working with the Tool:
- Always hold the tool firmly with both hands, using the main handle and the auxiliary handle.
- Apply moderate pressure. The tool's weight and hammering action are designed to do most of the work. Excessive pressure will not increase performance and can lead to premature wear.
- Allow the tool to cool down during extended periods of use to prevent overheating.
- Be aware of the Active Vibration Reduction (AVR) system, which minimizes vibration for user comfort.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Hilti TE 905-AVR.
General Cleaning:
- After each use, clean the tool with a dry cloth. Do not use water or chemical cleaning agents.
- Keep the ventilation slots clear to ensure proper motor cooling.
Lubrication:
The internal components of the Hilti TE 905-AVR are factory-lubricated. Refer to the official Hilti service manual or contact Hilti service for specific lubrication requirements.
Carbon Brush Replacement:
Carbon brushes are wear parts and should be checked periodically. Replacement should only be performed by qualified personnel or an authorized Hilti service center.
