- Volume: 100ml (3.3 fl oz)
- Recommended Surfaces: ABS plastic, Styrene plastic, Metal
- Indoor/Outdoor Usage: Indoor (with proper ventilation)
4. Setup and Preparation
- Surface Cleaning: Ensure the surface to be painted is clean, dry, and free of dust, grease, oil, and fingerprints. Use a suitable degreaser or mild soap and water, then rinse thoroughly and allow to dry completely.
- Sanding (Optional): For optimal adhesion and a smoother finish, lightly sand the surface with fine-grit sandpaper (e.g., 600-800 grit) and clean again.
- Masking: Mask off any areas not intended for painting using painter's tape or masking fluid.
- Shake Can: Shake the spray can vigorously for at least one minute after the mixing ball begins to rattle. This ensures proper mixing of the paint components.
- Test Spray: Always perform a test spray on a scrap piece of material or an inconspicuous area to check color, flow, and compatibility.
5. Operating Instructions (Application)
- Environment: Ensure the painting environment is well-ventilated and free from excessive dust. Ideal temperature for application is between 20-25°C (68-77°F) with moderate humidity.
- Distance: Hold the can approximately 25-30 cm (10-12 inches) from the surface.
- Application Technique: Apply paint in thin, even coats using a steady, sweeping motion. Overlap each pass slightly to ensure uniform coverage. Avoid applying thick coats, as this can lead to runs or an uneven finish.
- Multiple Coats: Allow each coat to dry for approximately 10-15 minutes (tack-free) before applying the next. For full hardness, allow 2 hours dry time. Multiple thin coats are superior to one thick coat.
- Curing Time: The paint will be touch-dry in a short period, but full curing can take 24-48 hours, depending on environmental conditions. Handle painted parts carefully during this time.
6. Maintenance
- Nozzle Cleaning: After each use, invert the can and spray for a few seconds until only clear propellant comes out. This prevents the nozzle from clogging. Wipe the nozzle clean with a cloth.
- Storage: Store the can upright in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure the cap is securely placed.
7. Troubleshooting
- Clogged Nozzle: If the nozzle clogs, remove it and soak it in lacquer thinner or mineral spirits. Clear the opening with a thin wire if necessary. Do not use a pin or sharp object to clear the nozzle while it is on the can.
- Uneven Finish/Orange Peel: This can be caused by spraying too far from the surface, insufficient shaking, or applying too thin a coat. Ensure proper distance, shake well, and apply even coats.
- Runs/Drips: Caused by applying too much paint in one area or holding the can too close. Apply thinner coats and maintain the recommended spraying distance.
- Poor Adhesion: Ensure the surface is thoroughly cleaned and prepared. Light sanding can improve adhesion on smooth surfaces.
