Component Identification
Familiarize yourself with the various parts and controls of your Casio PQ15-1K alarm clock:

- LCD Display: Shows time, date, day, and temperature.
- SNOOZE/LIGHT Button: Activates the snooze function when the alarm sounds, or illuminates the display backlight.
- NORM/TM AL/SET Slider: Selects between normal time display, alarm time setting, and general time/date setting modes.
- HOUR Button: Adjusts the hour during time/alarm setting.
- MIN Button: Adjusts the minute during time/alarm setting.
- MONTH Button: Adjusts the month during date setting.
- DATE Button: Adjusts the date during date setting.
- YEAR Button: Adjusts the year during date setting.
- 12/24 Button: Toggles between 12-hour and 24-hour time formats.

Setup
1. Battery Installation
- Open the battery compartment cover located on the back of the unit.
- Insert two (2) AAA batteries, ensuring the correct positive (+) and negative (-) polarity as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
- The display will activate, showing default time and date settings.
2. Setting the Time
- Slide the NORM/TM AL/SET switch to the SET position. The time digits will begin to flash.
- Press the HOUR button to adjust the hour. Hold the button for faster adjustment.
- Press the MIN button to adjust the minutes. Hold the button for faster adjustment.
- Press the 12/24 button to toggle between 12-hour (with AM/PM indicator) and 24-hour formats.
- Once the correct time is set, slide the NORM/TM AL/SET switch back to the NORM position.
3. Setting the Date
- Slide the NORM/TM AL/SET switch to the SET position.
- Press the MONTH button to adjust the month.
- Press the DATE button to adjust the day.
- Press the YEAR button to adjust the year.
- The day of the week will automatically update based on the set date.
- Once the correct date is set, slide the NORM/TM AL/SET switch back to the NORM position.
4. Temperature Unit Selection
- In NORM mode, press the °C/°F button to toggle the temperature display between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F).
Operating Instructions
1. Setting the Alarm
- Slide the NORM/TM AL/SET switch to the TM AL position. The alarm time will be displayed and may flash.
- Press the HOUR button to adjust the alarm hour.
- Press the MIN button to adjust the alarm minutes.
- Once the desired alarm time is set, slide the NORM/TM AL/SET switch back to the NORM position.
- To activate the alarm, slide the SNZ/AL ON/OFF switch to the AL ON position. An alarm indicator will appear on the display.
- To deactivate the alarm, slide the SNZ/AL ON/OFF switch to the OFF position. The alarm indicator will disappear.
2. Using the Snooze Function
When the alarm sounds, press the SNOOZE/LIGHT button. The alarm will temporarily stop and sound again after approximately 5 minutes. The snooze indicator will flash on the display. To stop the alarm completely, slide the SNZ/AL ON/OFF switch to the OFF position.
3. Using the Backlight
Press the SNOOZE/LIGHT button at any time to illuminate the display for a few seconds, allowing for easy viewing in low-light conditions.
4. Viewing the Thermometer
The current ambient temperature is continuously displayed on the lower right portion of the LCD screen. You can switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit using the °C/°F button as described in the Setup section.
Care and Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by a dry cloth. Do not use chemical cleaners, abrasive pads, or solvents.
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the display becomes dim or functions become erratic. Always replace both batteries at the same time with new ones of the same type.
- Storage: If storing the clock for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent potential leakage and damage to the unit.
