Setup
- Unpack: Carefully remove the watch winder from its packaging. Retain all packaging materials for future transport or storage.
- Placement: Place the winder on a flat, stable surface away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and moisture.
- Power Connection: Locate the power input port on the rear of the unit (refer to Figure 3). Connect the provided AC adapter to the port and then plug the adapter into a standard 100-240V electrical outlet.
- Watch Placement:
- Gently compress the watch pillow (refer to Figures 4 and 5) and secure your automatic watch around it.
- Insert the watch and pillow assembly firmly into one of the nine winding modules. Ensure the watch is seated securely and does not obstruct the rotation.
- For watches stored in the drawer, simply place them into the individual slots.
- Locking: The unit can be locked using the supplied key for added security.
Operating Instructions
The Diplomat 31-420 features a control knob to select different winding programs. Each program is designed to provide specific Turns Per Day (TPD) to keep your automatic watches wound. The knob settings are as follows:
- 1st Stop (OFF): The unit is powered off.
- 2nd Stop: The winder will rotate clockwise for 2 minutes, then rest for 6 minutes. This cycle repeats. (Approx. 650 TPD)
- 3rd Stop: The winder will rotate counter-clockwise for 2 minutes, then rest for 6 minutes. This cycle repeats. (Approx. 900 TPD)
- 4th Stop: The winder will rotate clockwise for 2 minutes, rest for 6 minutes, then rotate counter-clockwise for 2 minutes, rest for 6 minutes. This cycle repeats. (Approx. 1350 TPD)
- 5th Stop: The winder will rotate clockwise for 5 minutes, then counter-clockwise for 5 minutes. This cycle will repeat continuously for 3 hours, then rest for 9 hours. This entire 12-hour sequence repeats. (Approx. 1800 TPD)
Select the appropriate program setting based on your watch's manufacturer recommendations. If you are unsure, consult your watch's manual or start with a lower TPD setting and observe your watch's power reserve.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the winder with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn marks, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Interior Care: The tan suede interior can be gently brushed with a soft brush to remove dust.
- Watch Pillows: Ensure watch pillows are clean and free of debris before placing watches on them.
- Ventilation: Ensure adequate airflow around the unit to prevent overheating.
- Storage: If storing the winder for an extended period, disconnect it from power and store it in its original packaging in a cool, dry place.
