The MAK-12P is an active monitor speaker system featuring a high-quality amplifier module and optimally matched speaker components. It includes a specially developed 30 cm (12-inch) woofer and a piezo horn tweeter, housed in a black plastic cabinet.

5. Setup

  2. Power Connection: Connect the supplied power cable to the speaker's power input and then to a suitable 230 V ~ / 50 Hz power outlet. Ensure the speaker's power switch is in the "OFF" position before connecting.
  3. Audio Input Connection:
    • For balanced input, use XLR cables to connect your audio source (e.g., mixer, microphone) to the XLR input connectors on the speaker. The speaker features 2 x XLR (in/out) connections.
    • Ensure all connections are secure.
  4. Initial Power On: Once all connections are made, switch the speaker's power to the "ON" position. The power indicator light should illuminate.
  5. Volume Adjustment: Start with the input attenuator (gain control) set to its minimum position before playing any audio to avoid sudden loud sounds.

6. Operating Instructions

  1. Power On/Off: Use the main power switch located on the rear panel to turn the speaker on or off.
  2. Input Attenuator (-6dB): This control adjusts the input sensitivity. Rotate clockwise to increase the input level, and counter-clockwise to decrease it. Adjust this to match the output level of your audio source.
  3. Bass Boost: Engage this function to enhance low-frequency response, providing a fuller bass sound.
  4. Low Cut: Activate the Low Cut filter to remove unwanted low-frequency rumble or feedback, which can improve clarity, especially in live sound applications.
  5. Monitoring: Position the speaker to provide clear audio monitoring for performers or for general audience sound reinforcement.
  6. Daisy Chaining: The XLR output allows you to connect (daisy-chain) another active speaker or send the signal to another audio device.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Regularly wipe the cabinet with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or waxes.
  • Storage: If storing the speaker for an extended period, ensure it is kept in a dry, dust-free environment.
  • Inspection: Periodically check all cables and connections for signs of wear or damage. Replace any damaged cables immediately.
