Product Overview
The MONACOR AR-30 and AR-50 are surface exciters designed to transform ordinary surfaces into speaker diaphragms. By attaching the exciter to a vibration-capable surface such as a door, tabletop, shelf, or wall panel, and connecting it to an audio amplifier's speaker output, audio signals (music or speech) will cause the surface to vibrate, producing sound. The quality of the sound and maximum volume are dependent on the material properties and dimensions of the mounting surface.
Featuring robust and weatherproof housings, these exciters are also suitable for use in wet environments and outdoor applications, such as bathrooms or patios.
Important Instructions for Use
- The exciters comply with relevant EU directives and carry the [CE Mark]. They also comply with relevant UK legislation and carry the [UKCA Mark].
- The exciters are waterproof according to [IP68 Waterproof] (24 hours at a maximum water depth of 2 m), but must not be used for underwater operation.
- For cleaning, use only mild cleaning agents; do not use aggressive detergents or chemicals.
- MONACOR accepts no liability for any resulting personal or material damage if the exciter is used for purposes other than intended, if it is not correctly installed, or if it is overloaded.
- If the exciter is to be taken out of service permanently, please dispose of it in accordance with local regulations. [Paper Recycling]
Installation Guide
- Unscrew the mounting plate from the exciter. Mount the plate onto the desired surface using 6 screws. Then, screw the exciter onto the mounting plate using its threaded hole. Ensure all screw connections are tightened securely, as the exciter vibrates during operation and transfers energy to the mounting surface.
- Switch off the audio amplifier to which the exciter will be connected.
- Connect the exciter's cables to the amplifier's speaker output. The cables are equipped with crimp connectors for easy connection to speaker cables. When connecting multiple exciters, ensure they all have the same polarity (e.g., black wire = negative connection) and that the total load impedance does not fall below the amplifier's admissible value.
- Switch on the amplifier and adjust the desired volume.
