Installation Instructions
- Prepare Water Supply: Turn off the main water supply to the urinal. Flush the urinal to relieve any remaining pressure.
- Remove Old Fitting (if applicable): Carefully disconnect and remove the existing urinal fitting. Clean the area around the inlet pipe.
- Apply Thread Sealant: Apply appropriate thread sealant (e.g., PTFE tape or pipe dope) to the 1/2-inch NPT male threads of the water supply pipe.
- Connect Inlet: Thread the 1/2-inch NPT female inlet of the 732-OHVBCP fitting onto the prepared water supply pipe. Tighten securely with a wrench, but do not overtighten.
- Install Tailpiece and Escutcheon: Slide the slip wall flange onto the 3/4-inch O.D. tailpiece. Insert the tailpiece into the urinal's inlet. Secure the tailpiece to the fitting. Adjust the escutcheon against the wall.
- Install Handle: Attach the Long Bonnet Non-Sag Oscillating Handle to the fitting. Ensure it operates smoothly.
- Check for Leaks: Slowly turn on the main water supply. Inspect all connections for leaks. Tighten any leaking connections as necessary.
- Test Operation: Activate the handle to initiate a flush cycle. Verify proper water flow and flush duration.
Note: The NAIAD Metering Adjustable Self Closing Cartridge is pre-installed. Adjustments to the flush cycle duration can be made by following the maintenance instructions for cartridge adjustment.
Operation
The Chicago Faucets 732-OHVBCP Angle Urinal Metering Fitting is designed for simple, reliable operation.
- To activate the flush, push the oscillating handle down firmly.
- The fitting will deliver a metered amount of water (approximately 1 GPF at 45 PSI) for a duration of 5-10 seconds, then automatically shut off.
- Release the handle after activation. The handle will return to its original position.
Maintenance
Cleaning
- Clean the chrome finish regularly with a soft cloth and mild soap and water.
- Avoid abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish.
Cartridge Adjustment (Flush Duration)
The NAIAD metering cartridge allows for adjustment of the flush duration.
- Shut off Water: Turn off the water supply to the urinal at the stop valve.
- Remove Handle: Remove the handle from the fitting.
- Access Cartridge: Use an appropriate tool to carefully unscrew the bonnet nut to access the NAIAD cartridge.
- Adjust Cartridge: The cartridge has an adjustment screw. Turning the screw clockwise will decrease the flush duration, and turning it counter-clockwise will increase it. Make small adjustments.
- Reassemble and Test: Reassemble the cartridge, bonnet nut, and handle. Turn on the water supply and test the flush duration. Repeat adjustment if necessary.
Cartridge Replacement
If the fitting consistently leaks or fails to meter water correctly after adjustment, the NAIAD cartridge may need replacement. Contact Chicago Faucets support for replacement parts and detailed instructions.
