Setup Instructions

  1. Unpack the Sprinkler: Carefully remove the sprinkler from its packaging. Inspect for any damage.
  2. Positioning: Place the sprinkler in the desired watering area. The spiked base provides stability in softer ground. For harder ground, ensure the spikes can penetrate sufficiently.
  3. Hose Connection: Connect a standard garden hose to the inlet connection on the sprinkler base. Ensure the connection is tight to prevent leaks.
  4. Series Connection (Optional): If connecting multiple sprinklers in series, attach the first sprinkler's outlet to the inlet of the next sprinkler using an additional hose. This allows for larger area coverage.

Operating Instructions

The Nelson 50210 Pulsating Sprinkler offers adjustable settings for spray pattern and distance.

  • Water Flow: Slowly turn on the water supply. Observe the sprinkler's operation.
  • Adjusting Spray Distance: The large poly head allows for easy adjustment of the spray distance. Rotate the adjustment knob or lever on the sprinkler head to increase or decrease the water stream's reach.
  • Adjusting Spray Pattern (Arc):
    • To set a partial circle, use the two yellow clips located at the base of the pulsating head. Move these clips to define the start and end points of the desired watering arc.
    • For full 360-degree coverage, move both clips out of the way, allowing the sprinkler head to rotate freely.
  • Impact Adjustment: Some pulsating sprinklers feature an impact adjustment screw or pin. Adjusting this can change the force of the water stream, affecting both distance and spray pattern. Refer to the specific design of your sprinkler head for this feature.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning Nozzle: Periodically check the sprinkler nozzle for clogs from debris or mineral deposits. If clogged, gently clear with a small wire or needle.
  • Winter Storage: Before freezing temperatures, disconnect the sprinkler from the hose and drain all water. Store the sprinkler in a dry, protected area to prevent damage from freezing.
  • Hose Washer: Inspect the hose washer at the inlet connection regularly. Replace if worn or damaged to prevent leaks.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Sprinkler not rotating or rotating slowly.Low water pressure, clogged nozzle, or debris in the rotating mechanism.Increase water pressure, clean the nozzle, or clear debris from the rotating parts. Ensure arc clips are not obstructing movement for 360-degree rotation.
Uneven water distribution.Incorrect spray distance or pattern adjustment.Adjust the spray distance and arc settings as described in the Operating Instructions.
Water leaking from hose connection.Loose connection or worn hose washer.Tighten the hose connection. Inspect and replace the hose washer if necessary.
Sprinkler falls over.Spikes not fully inserted or ground is too soft/unstable.Ensure spikes are firmly pressed into the ground. If the ground is excessively soft, consider repositioning or reinforcing the base.
