4. Installation (Setup)

Installation must be performed by a qualified professional.

4.1 Unpacking

  1. Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. Check for any visible damage. Do not install if damaged.
  3. Ensure all parts listed in the packing contents are present.

4.2 Mounting the Unit

  1. Select a suitable wall location directly above the sink, ensuring sufficient space for maintenance and operation.
  2. Use the variable metal wall bracket to mark drilling points.
  3. Drill holes and insert appropriate wall plugs.
  4. Securely fasten the wall bracket to the wall.
  5. Mount the water heater unit onto the bracket.

4.3 Water Connection

  1. Connect the cold water supply to the designated inlet on the mixer tap (usually marked blue).
  2. Connect the hot water outlet from the unit to the designated inlet on the mixer tap (usually marked red).
  3. Ensure all connections are tight to prevent leaks. Use appropriate sealing materials.
  4. Open the main water supply and check for leaks.
  5. Before electrical connection, flush the unit by opening the tap until water flows freely and air is expelled.

4.4 Electrical Connection

  1. Ensure the main power supply is switched off at the circuit breaker.
  2. Connect the appliance to a dedicated 230 V, 3.5 kW electrical circuit. The unit is plug-ready.
  3. Verify proper grounding.
  4. Once connections are secure, switch on the main power supply.

5. Operation

5.1 First Use

  1. After installation and electrical connection, ensure the unit is completely filled with water by opening the cold water tap until water flows steadily.
  2. Turn the hot water knob on the mixer tap. The heating element will activate, and hot water will begin to flow after a short delay.
  3. Adjust the water temperature by mixing hot and cold water using the mixer tap controls.

5.2 Daily Use

  • To obtain hot water, turn the hot water knob on the mixer tap. The unit will heat water as it flows through.
  • To obtain cold water, turn the cold water knob.
  • Adjust the flow rate and temperature as desired using the tap controls.
  • The unit is designed for continuous flow within its specified capacity.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your CLAGE M3/SMB water heater.

  • Cleaning the Exterior: Clean the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Descaling: Depending on water hardness, limescale can build up in the heating system. If you notice a decrease in hot water flow or temperature, the unit may need descaling. This procedure should be performed by a qualified technician.
  • Checking Connections: Periodically inspect water and electrical connections for any signs of leaks or wear.
  • Mixer Tap Maintenance: Clean the aerator of the mixer tap regularly to remove any debris or limescale buildup that might restrict water flow.
