3. Compatibility
The C8515 Digital Easy Fit Plug is specifically designed for standard Digital Plug Ready (DPR) Scalextric cars produced from 2007 onwards. These cars feature a dedicated socket for the plug.
- For F1, Open Wheel, or Single Seater DPR Scalextric cars, use the C8516 Easy Fit Digital Plug Chip.
- For many non-DPR Scalextric cars, digital conversion may be possible using the C7005 Digital Chip. This conversion typically requires hobbyist skills and tools, including a soldering iron.
4. Installation Instructions
Converting a compatible DPR car with the C8515 Digital Easy Fit Plug is a straightforward process that requires only a small screwdriver and takes less than sixty seconds.
- Unscrew the Panel: Locate the panel on the base of the car. Unscrew this panel to access the internal wiring.
- Disconnect Wiring Plug: Disconnect the existing braid-to-motor wiring plug from its socket.
- Connect Digital Plug: Connect the C8515 Easy Fit Digital Plug to the braid-to-motor wiring plug. Ensure a secure connection.
- Secure the Plug: Replace the retaining screw to secure the Easy Fit Digital Plug to the car's chassis.

The C8515 Easy Fit Digital Plug can be easily transferred between compatible DPR cars as needed.
5. Operating the Digital Plug
Once installed, the C8515 Digital Easy Fit Plug enables your DPR car to operate on a Scalextric Digital layout. This allows for:
- Racing up to six cars on a two-lane track.
- Utilizing lane-changing track pieces.
- Interacting with digital powerbases and controllers, such as the Scalextric Digital Powerbase C8435 or ARC Pro systems.
For detailed operation of your Scalextric Digital layout, refer to the instruction manual provided with your specific digital powerbase and track system.
6. Maintenance
The C8515 Digital Easy Fit Plug requires no specific maintenance. Ensure connections remain secure and free from debris. If the plug is removed, store it in a clean, dry place.

If your converted car does not function correctly on a digital track:
- Verify that the C8515 plug is correctly and securely connected to the car's wiring.
- Ensure the car is a standard DPR model compatible with the C8515.
- Check the digital track and powerbase for proper setup and functionality according to their respective manuals.
