Important Safety Instructions
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons, including the following:
- Read all instructions.

- Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to “off”, then remove plug from wall outlet.
- Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
- Scalding may occur if the capsule compartment is opened during the brewing process.

Setup
1. Unpacking and Positioning
- Remove all packaging materials from the machine.
- Place the machine on a stable, heat-resistant, and level surface, away from water splashes and heat sources.
- Ensure the power cord is not trapped or touching hot surfaces.
2. First Use and Rinsing
- Fill the water tank with fresh drinking water.
- Place a container (at least 0.5L) under the coffee outlet.
- Plug the machine into a grounded power outlet. The buttons will flash.
- Press any coffee button (e.g., Espresso). The machine will start a rinsing cycle, dispensing water through the coffee outlet. Repeat this process 2-3 times until clear water flows.
- The machine is now ready for use.
Operating Instructions
1. Making Espresso or Lungo
- Ensure the water tank is filled.
- Lift the capsule insertion lever completely.
- Insert a Nespresso capsule into the compartment.
- Close the lever firmly.
- Place a cup under the coffee outlet.
- Press the Espresso button for a small cup or the Lungo button for a larger cup. The machine will brew and stop automatically.
- After brewing, lift the lever to eject the used capsule into the container.
2. Making Cappuccino or Latte Macchiato
- Fill the milk container with fresh, cold milk (skimmed or semi-skimmed recommended).
- Attach the milk container to the machine.
- Lift the capsule insertion lever and insert a Nespresso capsule. Close the lever.
- Adjust the drip tray to the appropriate height for your cup.
- Place your cup under the milk frother nozzle and coffee outlet.
- Press the Cappuccino or Latte Macchiato button. The machine will automatically froth milk, brew coffee, and stop.
- After brewing, remove the cup. For hygiene, press the Clean button on the milk container to rinse the milk system.
3. Programming Cup Volume
You can customize the volume of your Espresso, Lungo, Cappuccino, and Latte Macchiato:
- For Espresso/Lungo: Insert a capsule and place a cup. Press and hold the desired coffee button (Espresso or Lungo). Release the button when the desired volume is reached. The machine will remember this setting for future brews.
- For Cappuccino/Latte Macchiato: Prepare the machine with milk and capsule. Press and hold the desired milk-based drink button. The machine will first dispense milk. Release the button when the desired milk volume is reached. The machine will then dispense coffee. Press the button again when the desired coffee volume is reached. The machine will remember these settings.
Maintenance
1. Daily Cleaning
- Milk System: After each milk-based drink, press the Clean button on the milk container. This rinses the milk frother nozzle. For thorough cleaning, disassemble the milk container parts and wash them with warm soapy water or in a dishwasher.
- Drip Tray and Used Capsule Container: Empty and rinse daily.
- Water Tank: Rinse regularly and refill with fresh water.
- Exterior: Wipe the machine with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents.
2. Descaling
Descaling is crucial for maintaining machine performance and coffee quality. The descaling light will illuminate when descaling is required.
- Refer to the specific descaling instructions provided with your Nespresso descaling kit.
- Empty the drip tray and used capsule container.
- Fill the water tank with the descaling solution as per the kit instructions.
- Place a large container (at least 1L) under the coffee outlet and milk frother nozzle.
- Follow the machine's descaling sequence, typically involving pressing and holding specific buttons.
- After the descaling cycle, rinse the water tank and perform several rinsing cycles with fresh water to remove any descaling residue.
3. Storage
If the machine will not be used for an extended period, empty the water tank and clean all components. Store in a dry, dust-free place.
