Setup

1. Battery Installation

The Prym Maxi Lint Shaver requires 2 x AA / 1.5 V batteries (not included).

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover, typically on the handle or back of the device.
  2. Slide or unclip the cover to open the compartment.
  3. Insert two AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover securely.

Operating Instructions

1. Preparing the Fabric

Lay the garment or fabric flat on a hard, smooth surface. Stretch the fabric taut to ensure an even surface for shaving. This helps prevent accidental damage to the fabric.

2. Adjusting the Shaving Distance

The device features a two-stage distance adjustment mechanism. This allows you to select the appropriate shaving distance based on the material type.

  1. Identify the adjustment switch or ring on the shaver head.
  2. Select a lower setting for delicate fabrics and a higher setting for thicker, more durable materials or heavily pilled areas.

3. Using the Lint Shaver

  1. Switch on the device using the power button.
  2. Gently glide the perforated shaving head over the pilled areas of the fabric with light pressure.
  3. Move the shaver in small, circular motions or straight strokes.
  4. Avoid pressing too hard or holding the shaver in one spot for too long, as this may damage the fabric.
  5. Continue until the lint and knots are removed and the fabric appears smooth.
  6. Switch off the device after use.

Maintenance

1. Emptying the Lint Collection Container

The lint shaver collects removed lint in a transparent container. Empty this container regularly to maintain optimal performance.

  1. Ensure the device is switched OFF.
  2. Carefully detach the collection container from the main body of the shaver.
  3. Discard the collected lint.
  4. Reattach the collection container securely.

2. Cleaning the Shaving Head and Blades

For thorough cleaning, the device can be easily disassembled. A small brush is typically included for this purpose.

  1. Ensure the device is switched OFF and batteries are removed.
  2. Gently twist or unclip the shaving head cover to expose the blades.
  3. Use the provided brush to carefully remove any trapped lint or debris from the blades and the inside of the perforated screen.
  4. Caution: The blades are sharp. Handle with care to avoid injury.
  5. Wipe the exterior of the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use water or harsh cleaning agents.
  6. Reassemble the shaving head and cover, ensuring all parts are securely in place.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Device does not turn on. Batteries are dead or incorrectly inserted. Check battery polarity. Replace with new AA batteries.
Poor lint removal performance. Lint collection container is full. Blades are dull or clogged. Empty the lint container. Clean the shaving head and blades. Consider replacing blades if dull (if replacement parts are available).
Fabric gets snagged or damaged. Excessive pressure applied. Incorrect shaving distance setting. Use lighter pressure. Adjust the shaving distance setting to suit the fabric type. Ensure fabric is laid flat and taut.
Unusual noise during operation. Lint or debris caught in blades. Loose component. Switch off and clean the shaving head and blades. Ensure all parts are securely assembled.
