4. Setup

4.1 Powering the Unit

The DT-10 can be powered by a 9V battery or an optional 9V DC power adapter (not included).

• Battery Installation: To install a 9V battery, unscrew the bottom plate of the unit. Connect the 9V battery to the battery clip and place it inside the compartment. Secure the bottom plate.
• AC Adapter: Connect a compatible 9V DC power adapter to the DC 9V IN jack.

4.2 Connecting Your Equipment

• Connect your instrument to the INPUT jack using a standard 1/4-inch instrument cable.
• Connect the OUTPUT jack to your amplifier or the input of your next effects pedal using another 1/4-inch instrument cable.
• If using a bypass loop, connect the BYPASS jack as required by your setup.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Basic Tuning

1. Press the footswitch to turn the tuner ON. The display will illuminate.
2. Play a single note on your instrument. The DT-10 will automatically detect the note and display its name on the Note Display.
3. Observe the LED Meter:
   • If the LEDs on the left illuminate, the note is flat. Tune up.
   • If the LEDs on the right illuminate, the note is sharp. Tune down.
   • When the center green LED illuminates, the note is in tune.
4. Once tuned, press the footswitch again to bypass the tuner and send the signal to your amplifier.

5.2 Flat Tuning Mode

The DT-10 supports flat tuning up to seven semitones below standard pitch.

• While the tuner is ON, press the FLAT button repeatedly to cycle through the flat tuning settings (e.g., one semitone flat, two semitones flat, etc.).
• The display will indicate the number of flats.
• Tune your instrument according to the LED meter and note display in the selected flat tuning.

5.3 Calibration Adjustment

The standard calibration pitch is A4=440 Hz. You can adjust this if needed.

• While the tuner is ON, press the CALIB button to change the reference pitch.
• The calibration range is typically from 438 Hz to 445 Hz.

6.1 Battery Replacement

When the display dims or the tuner becomes unresponsive, it is time to replace the 9V battery.

1. Disconnect all cables from the unit.
2. Carefully unscrew the four screws on the bottom plate of the unit.
3. Remove the old battery from its clip.
4. Connect a new 9V battery to the clip, ensuring correct polarity.
5. Place the battery inside the compartment and reattach the bottom plate, securing it with the screws.

6.2 Cleaning

Wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents.

7. Troubleshooting

• Unit does not power on: Check if the 9V battery is installed correctly and has sufficient charge. If using an AC adapter, ensure it is properly connected and functioning.
• Inaccurate tuning: Ensure your instrument is properly intonated. Check that the cables are securely connected and not damaged. Verify the calibration setting (A4 frequency).
• No sound when tuner is bypassed: Check all cable connections. Ensure the amplifier is on and functioning.
• Battery drains quickly: Always disconnect input cables when the unit is not in use, as some tuners draw power even when bypassed if a cable is connected. Consider using an AC adapter for extended use.
