Introduction

The BOSS GE-7 Equalizer is a versatile 7-band graphic equalizer pedal designed for guitarists. Setup

Power Supply

Connections

Operating the GE-7

Controls Overview

The GE-7 features seven frequency band sliders and one master level slider. Each frequency slider adjusts the gain for its specific frequency band by +/-15dB. The Level slider controls the overall output volume of the pedal, also with a +/-15dB range.

Tone Shaping Examples

The GE-7 offers extensive possibilities for tone shaping:

Volume Boost: Boost your amp settings to enhance solos and lift choruses by increasing the Level slider and adjusting frequency bands as needed.
Cocked Wah: Create a fixed wah-like sound by boosting specific mid-range frequencies (e.g., 800Hz or 1.6kHz) while cutting others.
Humbucker to Single-Coil: Instantly shift tones from humbuckers into single-coil sounds by adjusting the frequency response to mimic the characteristics of single-coil pickups.

Maintenance

Battery Replacement

To replace the 9V battery, loosen the thumbscrew on the front of the pedal and open the pedal cover. Carefully remove the old battery and insert a new one, observing polarity. Close the cover and tighten the thumbscrew.

Cleaning

Wipe the pedal with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the finish or internal components.

General Care

Troubleshooting

No Sound or Low Volume

Check the Level slider on the GE-7. Ensure it is not set to minimum.

Unwanted Noise or Hum
