Operating Instructions
The Sealey AK993 features an autolock mechanism for ease of use and a press-button for controlled rewind.
- Extending the Blade: Gently pull the blade from the case. The blade will automatically lock in position once extended, holding your measurement.
- Taking a Measurement: Position the end hook at the starting point of your measurement. Extend the blade to the desired length. Read the measurement from the top edge of the tape for metric (millimeters, centimeters, meters) or the bottom edge for imperial (inches, feet).
- Rewinding the Blade: To retract the blade, locate the rewind button (typically on the underside or side of the case). Press and hold this button to allow the blade to smoothly retract into the case. Maintain a firm grip on the blade to control its speed during retraction.
- Using the Belt Clip and Wrist Strap: The integrated belt clip allows for convenient carrying on a belt or pocket. The wrist strap provides an additional security measure to prevent accidental drops.
