4. Setup

4.1 Assembly

The Hozelock 2-in-1 Compact Hose Reel requires minimal assembly. Follow the instructions provided in the packaging for attaching the winding handle and ensuring the hose is correctly routed. It is recommended to fully unwind the hose before initial use to prevent tangles and ensure proper function.

4.2 Wall Mounting

For a permanent and convenient watering solution, you can mount the hose reel to a wall. The unit comes with all necessary fixtures.

1. Choose Location: Select a suitable wall near your outdoor tap, ensuring it is a sturdy surface capable of supporting the reel's weight when full of water.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Connecting to Tap

1. Attach the Threaded Tap Connector to your outdoor tap.
2. Connect one of the Hose End Connectors to the short leader hose of the reel.
3. Click the leader hose connector onto the tap connector.
4. Turn on the tap slowly to allow water to fill the hose.

5.2 Using the Nozzle

The supplied nozzle allows for adjustable water flow. Simply attach it to the end of the main hose using a Hose End Connector. Rotate the nozzle head to adjust the spray pattern from a fine mist to a powerful jet, or to shut off the flow.

5.3 Extending the Hose

To extend the hose, simply pull the hose gently from the reel to the desired length. The hose will unreel smoothly. Avoid pulling too forcefully or at sharp angles to prevent kinking.

5.4 Rewinding the Hose

To rewind the hose, turn the large winding handle clockwise. As you rewind, guide the hose evenly across the reel using the integrated hose guide mechanism. This ensures the hose layers neatly and prevents tangles or bunching.

• Cleaning: Periodically wipe down the hose reel casing and hose with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris.

• Winter Storage: Before the first frost, drain all water from the hose and reel. Store the unit indoors in a frost-free environment to prevent damage from freezing water. If wall-mounted, the reel can be easily unclipped from its bracket for storage.
• Hose Inspection: Check the hose for any signs of wear, cracks, or damage. Replace the hose if significant damage is found to maintain optimal performance.

• Low Water Flow: Check if the tap is fully open. Ensure there are no kinks in the hose. Verify that all connectors are securely attached and not leaking.
• Hose Not Rewinding Smoothly: Ensure the hose is not kinked or tangled. Use the hose guide to help layer the hose evenly. If the reel feels stiff, check for any obstructions in the winding mechanism.
• Leaks from Connections: Ensure all connectors are tightened properly. Check the rubber washers inside the connectors; replace them if they are worn or damaged.
