This manual provides detailed instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of the UEi Test Instruments DTH880 Wall Mounted Temperature and Humidity Tester. 4. Product Overview

4.1. Display Elements
- Temperature Display: Shows current temperature in Fahrenheit (°F) or Celsius (°C).
- Humidity Display: Shows current relative humidity in percentage (%RH).
- HOLD Indicator: Appears when the data hold function is active.
- Comfort Zone Indicator: A visual cue indicating comfortable temperature and humidity levels.
4.2. Control Buttons
- °C/°F Button: Toggles the temperature display between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
- MAX/MIN Button: Displays the maximum or minimum recorded temperature and humidity since the last reset.
- CLR Button: Clears the recorded maximum and minimum values.
- HOLD Button: Freezes the current display readings. Press again to release.
5. Setup
5.1. Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the DTH880 unit.
- Open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert the required alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
5.2. Mounting Options
The DTH880 offers flexible placement options:
- Wall Mounting: Use the integrated keyhole slot on the back of the unit to hang it on a screw or nail on a wall. Ensure the mounting surface is stable and the unit is level.
- Desk Mounting: Utilize the built-in kickstand on the back of the unit to place it upright on any flat surface, such as a desk or shelf.

6. Operation
6.1. Powering On/Off
The DTH880 powers on automatically once batteries are installed. There is no dedicated power button. To power off, remove the batteries.
6.2. Reading Measurements
Once powered on, the current temperature and relative humidity will be displayed on the LCD screen.
6.3. Changing Temperature Units (°C/°F)
Press the °C/°F button to switch the temperature display between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
6.4. Viewing Min/Max Records
Press the MAX/MIN button once to display the maximum temperature and humidity recorded since the last reset. Press it again to display the minimum recorded values. Press a third time to return to current readings.
6.5. Clearing Min/Max Records
While viewing MAX or MIN records, press the CLR button to clear the stored maximum and minimum values. The display will return to current readings.
6.6. Using Data Hold
Press the HOLD button to freeze the current temperature and humidity readings on the display. The "HOLD" indicator will appear. Press the HOLD button again to release the function and resume live readings.
7. Maintenance
7.1. Cleaning
Wipe the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure no liquid enters the device.
7.2. Battery Replacement
When the display becomes dim or erratic, it is time to replace the batteries. Follow the battery installation steps in Section 5.1. Always replace all batteries at the same time with new ones of the same type.
8. Troubleshooting
- No Display / Unit Not Turning On:
- Check battery installation. Ensure batteries are inserted with correct polarity.
- Replace old or depleted batteries with new ones.
- Inaccurate Readings:
- Ensure the unit is placed in a location free from direct drafts, heat sources, or extreme humidity fluctuations.
- Allow the unit to stabilize for at least 15-30 minutes after placement or battery replacement.
- Note that the humidity sensor may not read below 25% RH accurately, as noted by some users. This is within the specified operating range of 25% to 95% RH.
- Buttons Not Responding:
- Check battery level. Low batteries can affect button responsiveness.
- Ensure buttons are not stuck or obstructed.
